Any December Sleever's?

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for surgery Monday December 21st. Finally used to liquid diet. Clear Liquids tomorrow. Excited, nervous and a tad scared. Down about 16 pounds in 2 weeks. I admit I had two bites of food but spit and rinsed really well.my clothes are already loose. Instead of thinking, no food for the holidays I'm thinking way what a great gift I'm getting for Christmas!!! Great tool for the rest of my life!

How r u doing? How's your recovering? I'm still at the hospital recovering I guess tommorow I'm release ;)

I got sleeved on the 15th, 5 days post-op and it seems to be getting better, except for the gas.

The gas is the worst part! I just got sleeved yesterday the 21st. And the gas is driving me crazy... But only walking helps me. I also get nausea occasionally. But the pain is manageable.

Thanks Liz. I'm already home. Had bad chest pain from gas but walking and blowing in the little tube helped. Stitches a little tender but not to bad. I lost 22 pounds prior to surgery. Shocked the heck out of I though maybe 10 pounds. Still on liquid Sadie for two more weeks, but can add fat free no sugar added pudding and yogurt. Can have some V-8 too. Glad to have some new choice before the mush stage.

Spell check I meant Yvette

I agree gas is the worst part because pain medicine doesn't work on it all! Didn't get much sleep in hospital either.

I know I already want to go home and get rest. Yes chest pain are the worst. But I'm so glad you are well n at your own atmosphere that will help more! Good keep up! Glad you lost those pounds off

... I only lost 9lbs I. The diet but before I lost 41lbs so a total of 50lbs before surgery :)

Merry Christmas! I had my sleeve surgery on December 18. I feel great! Not taking any pain medicine, able to drink plenty of liquids and have not been hungry since I started the pre-op liquid diet - truly amazing!! One thing though - the diarrhea! I hope it ends soon. This may be TMI - but I went and got Depends because I had one too many accidents. I never know when its going to happen - no signs. Anyone else have this issue? I'm 5 days post op.

Hey SS!! I have read everyone else no pain and a little itching. I feel like such a wuss. Cause I am hurting and sore. I am up every two hours like an infant want in to eat. Not regular pains. At first I was taking nausea and pain med. Now I just feed the uncomfortable feeling.

@@Snuzin I was sleeved 12/17. I went 4 days without a bm then the diarrhea started and hasn't stopped. It's quite inconvenient.... Glad you're doing well otherwise. I'm doing good. I'm getting in all my fluids and Protein. I've lost 10lbs since surgery. Hope our bathroom issues clear up soon. Good luck!

Not for my surgery. However, depending on the length of surgery, an in and out bladder drainage is usually done. Meaning your bladder is emptied at the end of the case, and you have no indwelling catheter.

For those who had surgery, did anyone use a catheter? I was just wondering if they do

No I didn't need a catheter, I used the bathroom before I went in.

I had a catheter...I was in the hospital for 2 days. It didn't hurt, however was just uncomfortable and of course when I had to walk, I had to bring the bag with me which was embarrassing to walk around with a bag of pee... taking it out was a little uncomfortable but didn't hurt...they just uninflated the bag and pulled it out... and that was it.

Ok so depends on the hospital/doctor maybe. The idea seems very weird I hope they don't have to put one for me

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
