  3. Hi, I was sleeved December 2015. I’ve lost 110 pounds. Very thankful for my sleeve. Problem is that in the past few months I’ve started having really bad reflux. Sometimes I wake up from a dead sleep to stomach acids up in my throat! I use Prilosec daily plus Zantac twice a day and tums in between. I moved a few months ago so I live 2 states away from my bariatric surgeon and I have new insurance. Just wondering if I should find a new bariatric surgeon or just go to a regular doctor about my issues. Have others had reflux/GERD issues? Thanks in advance.

  5. I think requirements vary due to surgeon, insurance and your health. My BMI was 39. I only had to do a psych evaluation, labs, chest X-ray, and EKG. The only pre existing medical issue was high blood pressure. I know people who went to same surgeon and had same insurance but were much heavier who had to do other tests like EGD, sleep apnea test, cardiac stress test....
  6. I'm exactly 10 months out today and I've not had one single moment of regret! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!!! Best thing I've EVER done in my life. My BMI was 39 and now it's 24.... My high blood pressure is gone. All the aches and pains of my joints are gone! You won't regret it!
  7. I add instant coffee to my chocolate Premier protein shakes. Delicious! Cuts the sweetness!!
  8. @@Inner Surfer Girl I was born in Lexington and grew up in Paris. My mom lives in Lexington now. I've been in Florida since '97. I miss Lexington and Keeneland so much! You made me think of so many good times I had at Kenneland and watching the horse races! I can't tell you the last time I had burgoo! Sounds so yummy!

  14. I'm definitely less patient now because for too long I was very patient and understanding of others while neglecting myself and my feelings! Now I stand up for myself and I don't take shit from anyone! I realize that I'm important and I have to take care of myself first!
  15. 161.4 So close to goal....0.4! Thank you for the weight loss challenge![emoji3]
  16. I lost the same amount of weight in the same time as you. I think you're doing fine. I feel like your doctor is a little unreasonable.... I was eating about 700-900 calories at the two month mark. I have increased a little and now at 9 months post sleeve, I eat 1000-1150. I had a few stalls here and there but kept losing as long as I was getting at least 50-70gm of protein and 64oz water every day. Maybe try to get rid of at least 1 of those 3 shakes by eating real food. Hang in there, I think you're doing great. The weight will come off.
  17. I am almost 9 months out from gastric sleeve and I still drink protein shakes. I have 1 every morning because I can't eat solid food in the morning or I'll feel nauseated. I work 12 hour shifts and can't always stop for breaks so in a pinch, I'll drink another shake. But for the most part I eat real foods. I don't juice my veggies or fruit, I eat them whole.

  19. All I had to do was a psych eval, chest X-ray, EKG and blood work. My BMI was 39 and the only medical issue was high blood pressure (which is now gone).
  20. I was sleeved in December 2015. I didn't have my first drink until March on St Patrick's Day. (I'm Irish decent [emoji4]). I had beer and it didn't sit well at all. I've not tried beer since, although I miss it dearly. I do have a glass of wine or a mixed drink occasionally. I get a quick buzz that doesn't last long. I'm not a huge drinker so it's not a problem for me if I don't have it.
