I'm two months post op and I had regular sushi rolls, but could only tolerate two-three pieces before I felt full.

I am over 10 months out, and eat sashimi all the time and have been eating it since I was cleared for solids. Fish has always been a good source of Protein for me. I used to love the seaweed salad, but I don't want to waste the space in my sleeve so I usually go for all sashimi, but the seaweed wouldn't be bad for you I would think if you just had a little (seaweed is very high in nutrients and minerals and a good veggie to consume from what I remember). I will even eat a bit of sushi, but I pretty much discard 3/4 or better of the rice ball, and just use a tiny amount to soak up some soy sauce now.

sashimi is probably fine but think twice about the seaweed salad. It's chewy and might not be the best choice only a month out.

Depends on your surgery I suppose....

Rice was one of the first things I had to give up because it did not go well with my band...stuck too easily

The fish might be good as soon as you are cleared for solids. The rice and the seaweed is a bit soon.

I have already had sashimi (as well as a lot of fish in general) and it has gone swimmingly (much like the fish were before they landed on my plate). I have made a "commitment" to try real sushi come the holidays, when such meals become more frequent with the family, but my approach will be quite conservative.

Rice was not on my plan. Carbs were limited until I lost 75% of my weight.. I'm in maintenance. Rice seems to bloat me up. (TMI) I love California rolls. In a food processor i mixed crab meat, carrot cucumber and cilantro. To a chunky consistency, I mixed olive oil mayo to create a salad. I stuff it in a small avocado. its not shashimi. but I love sushi.

I've had lots of sashimi and it was fine. Sushi was fine too but the rice filled me up a lot faster so I prefer sashimi

This past saturday we went out for sushi for a friends birthday and I got the sashimi appetizer plus an a la carte order of Uni sashimi because I've always wanted to try it. The app was a perfect size, it was 8 pieces of sashimi and it was perfectly satisfying

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
