Dehydration?

Recommended Posts

I know this has been a very addressed discussion, however, I started my pureed phase yesterday, and can't seem to get enough liquids in now. If I make myself drink too much, I feel I will get sick. I've had a few Popsicles and am sipping as much as I can make myself. When this happened to any of you, did you revert to all fluids, supplement with G2 Gatorade, pedialite? Any suggestions...

I always have a couple bottles of Gatorade Zero around in case I can't get enough fluids in, I think it helps

I do like drinking plain very cold Water but if im having a day where it doesn't sit well with me I add no added sugar juice ( checking its low in natural sugar too).

sometimes i find that a pitcher of crystal light goes down better than Water. I like the peach iced tea and pink lemonade the best

I'm 70 days post sleeve surgery and I'm still learning how to make time for enough liquids!! I enjoy lemon Water the best. I'm struggling with dehydration and I am not meeting my Protein goals every day. I've lost 60 lbs already and it's definitely life-changing!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
