Back at home, happily recovering.????Everything I've been researching has come in really handy! I feel great but perhaps the pain meds are clouding my judgement. I'm surprised with how much I can move around.

How is everyone doing?

My surgery was Monday, so I am 3 days post-op. Sore, but no longer needing my pain medicine. I am having trouble sleeping at night, as I'm only comfortable on my back. I actually feel better standing and walking around than sitting or lying down. I spent one night in the hospital so I could stay on my IV. Then the "leak test" was done the morning after surgery. So far, so good. But I am experiencing "head hunger," I want to bite into a cheeseburger, just for nostalgia's sake!

My surgery was Monday 11/9. Doc said it couldn't have gone better, but i had real difficulty keeping pain meds down on tuesday, so they made me stay for another night. One incision is crazy painful, the rest I don't feel at all. It took 4 staff and an ultrasound machine to get a line on me, so I look bruised and battered.

Because of my uncontrollable painkiller induced nausea and vomiting, I could only keep Water down. The hospital food was naaaaaasty. They released me yestersay. Today I've had cream Soup and yogurt.

My tummy is making lots of gurgley noises, and it hurts to cough, sneeze and laugh.

Sorry to hear you're having a bit of trouble. Make sure to hold a pillow on your tummy when you cough, sneeze or laugh. That should help the pain. Hope you get feeling better soon.

4 days to go for me.

Thanks for your stories, ladies. I wish everyone the best of luck.

I dreamt of eating something not liquid (I'm still on stage 2). Woke up panicked then happy I hadn't gone there. Head hunger is a sneaky opponent.

Here's to steady progress! Hip hip hooray!!????

had surgery 11/19. spent the night and was released at noon the next day. surgery and recovery was rough for me due to never being put to sleep or having any surgery done .before. got to felling much better once I got home. spent all day Saturday at the gym watching basketball tournament. I highly recommend destination weight loss in Guntersville al.

$10,000 includes everything even a night in the hospital.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
