  1. Everyone is different, so there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way. I've been open about it and so far I'd say people are overwhelmingly supportive. Sleeve surgery is increasingly common...as is obesity! It takes courage to take the surgical step and most people get that. FYI, I am 62 years old, one week post-op. Over the past 3 weeks (2 week pre-op diet and 1 week post-op) I've already lost 25 lbs!

  4. My surgery was Monday, so I am 3 days post-op. Sore, but no longer needing my pain medicine. I am having trouble sleeping at night, as I'm only comfortable on my back. I actually feel better standing and walking around than sitting or lying down. I spent one night in the hospital so I could stay on my IV. Then the "leak test" was done the morning after surgery. So far, so good. But I am experiencing "head hunger," I want to bite into a cheeseburger, just for nostalgia's sake!

  7. I personally don't care who knows! I am 'owning' my decision and have been surprised that so many people have been super supportive. One or two have given me a disapproving look. But who cares? What is right for one person may not bee for another. I need the extra 'kick in the butt' that surgery will provide. Drastic? Perhaps. But I'm not looking back.
  8. Sure, I've been hungry on the pre-op diet, but it's worth it. I'm so happy to be back below 300 lbs!

  11. Me too! Same surgery date! Let's keep in touch!
  12. Surgery Monday, November 9, yippee! I'm sick of the pre-op diet and ready for the next stage. Lost 15 lbs on the pre-op regimen.
