Hi! I'm 7 weeks post op and just found this bariatric pal website. Would love to talk to and get to know someone who is further along this journey and can provide honest answers to my questions.

You've come to the right place. I'm 11.5 weeks out, doing well. How have things been for you so far?

I'm losing a pound every other day so I'm track with what my doctor expects. This week I had to go back to the hospital to get a stricture taken care of so hopefully I can eat now. The thing I didn't expect is how emotional I am. I don't feel like myself with these hormones raging but my doctor says it is normal and my hormones will level out soon.

What does almost 12 weeks feel like?

I have no pain anywhere and can tolerate most foods I have tried, though to be fair, I'm still very careful about what I eat. My hormones are crazy too still. I get depressed or very emotional at the drop of a hat for absolutely no reason. I've lost about 52 pounds since surgery. The only thing that even reminds me that I had surgery is how tired I get, and so easily. My bloodworka was normal, so most likely it a part of the hormone and metabolism thing, and everything is still a little out of whack. But generally, my life is returning to normal.

How are you all doing? I am from Chicago and would like to hear from more local people. Where did you have your surgery

Hi all - I had surgery with Dr. Bipan Chand @ Loyola U on October 20, 2014. I'd definitely be open to chatting and helping anyone from the Chicago area with encouragement and support along the way. I live in Plainfield. Send me a PM here if you're interested in chatting.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
