I have a 14CC band and have had 5 fills since April. I know have 9.5CC's of saline and don't think I am at full restriction. I am just feeling some tightness mostly at Breakfast. Is this normal?

if you are losing weight i wouldn't worry about it. i had to have saline removed because i to was feeling too much restriction that i could not eat at all and puking everything i tried. it would take me 45 minutes just to eat yogurt and oatmeal wouldn't even go down. good luck to you and if you losing weight continue with that, you don't want to be too restricted...irish

if the weight is going back on why would you want to be unfilled???? since he took uot 1cc i have not lost a pound in 2 weeks--first it was too retstricted, i couldn't eat and was throwing up eveything i tried, now no restriction and haven't lost a single pound. i guess we just have to find that happy medium!!! good luck to you. i am going to ask that he puts 1/2 cc back in so hopefully i can eat and get that full feeling. its been since 06/20 that i had my surgery and i just haven't found that right fill. i have lost 44 pounds so i am happy about that but i been eating more since he unfilled me......

Hi Everyone

Had the strangest thing happen. Two weeks ago, had a fill, bring me to 7ccs in my 14 APL. I´ve been fluctuating a lot, scale not really moving, but trying my best to keep a  good attitude.

Thursday (two weeks to the day) I fixed scrambled eggs for breakfast, took two bites and had that awful in your chest feeling. Thought that is strange. Went about my business, PBed

We had friends in from Colorado, went to lunch, two bites of chicken, and the same thing all over. At dinner I had about a cup of white chili. It´s like the fill just really kicked in!

Did some research and called my nurse, and she said you are not going crazy, this sometimes happens, and they aren´t really sure why. She had even called teh company in the past, and they aren´t certain either.

So, I´m now eating 1/2 C of food, and feeling VERY full afterwards. I cannot wait to get on the scale this week. Maybe I FINALLY have good restrction!

:confused:Any help, assistance, or comments would be appreciated.... I am worried. I was banded in JUNE. I had one fill July to 2.5cc and then to 4.5cc - I only lost about 15 lbs. as of mid August ----- NO RESTRICTION. Today, after being gone for a month oversees I came back to get another fill - I'd lost NO weight since my last fill and in fact gained back 3 lbs. so I am at only 12 lbs or so LOST. So today he said he filled me to 9cc - I asked ... "my god, how much more can you put in there? and he said you have a big band - 20cc... this is after I got a huge lecture on that I wasn't supposed to be eating anything, I wasn't controlling portions, and that I had probably lost all the weight I was going to loose, etc., etc., - he basically scolded me the whole time. I told him I had no restriction and he commented that I wasn't supposed to, that first I needed to not eat more than a few bites at each meal. I am totally frustrated and confused. I have had no control over my portions, I admit it, but I have had no restriction at all to help me out. He is basically telling me that my band is working because I won't stop eating. HELP HELP HELP.... what can I do now? I now feel HUGE restriction and am sipping everything and I definatly feel a difference. Do you think he is just trying to get me motivated? Is it normal to NOT have restriction and NOT loose weight during the first few fills. I feel like a big failure - PLEASE HELP!!

I was banded in May & have only lost 18 lbs & mostly due to lots of exercise. I have had numerous fills (i don't keep count but maybe 6?) & have restriction but am not being satisfied on the amount they say I should eat so in return I'm not loosing much. I feel your frustration & confusion. I will be getting another fill in a week & hopefully that will give me the appetite control needed to get this thing going. At this time I have 7.6cc in a 10cc so even though you feel restriction with 9cc the ratio is still a low restriction level in my experience. They go slow to MAKE you eat a certain way. I get stuck almost every meal because I'm a slow learner & still take too big bites & eat too much because I'm obviously not restricted enough to keep me satisfied for any length of time. Everyone told me it would be slow & eventually work out. So hang in there & hopefully it will be faster for you.

OK so i don't really understand. I was banded 10/10 and was filled with 2cc in my 10cc band. Right now i feel no restriction. So if i go get a fill, and if i feel restriction, is that supposed to last me forever, or do i stop feeling restriction after a while?? And if i stop feeling restriction after a while, do i have to go get another fill and do it again? what if i reach 10cc's??

Why do fills not last?

the restricion changes cause your stomack is getting smaller, so u have less restriction, i had too much restricion last month to where i could hold down a yogurt, but as the month has gone on it has lessened and now im able to eat a small meal - like its ment to work. i asked my doc about what would happen if i reach a full band and dont have enough restriction - she said it wont happen!!! - im going to hold her to that...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
