When you eat something that doesn't agree with you and you need to get it up, is it the same type of committing as to when we're sick. My friend had lap and she says it's quick get it up move on not like the taste lingers in your mouth acid ect... But I figure kebabs would be different.

This is a funny question. I think you are asking if vomiting still works the same. And so I will respond assuming that is what you are asking.

Vomiting now is completely different for me. I don't have dumping syndrome that causes me to vomit but I have a few times since surgery most because I over ate or something did not agree with me at all.

I have little to no stomach acid having had bypass. My new stomach is small so when I do vomit it is a very small amount and it's over. There isn't that nasty stomach acid taste any longer it's just different.

I do still hate to get sick though.

Lol my friend knows I do not want to throw up at all so she said it won't be as bad if something didn't agree with you I am so petrified to try new food and having vomit session but she was trying to tell me that I won't be so bad so I was just wondering thank you

The past week it seems like at least once a meal sometimes more my good doesn't agree with me... I have stopped trying to advance my diet this week.

Vomiting is different now. Usually I feel a sharp pain near the bottom of my chest- letting me know the food isn't going to go down... I walk to the bathroom than the food comes up immediately- no retching, usually once or twice til the pouch is empty. I think the foods I tried to advance to were to dry tho.... I am going to try advancing again in 2-3 days after this morning's vomit fest!

It really isn't like before- it doesn't hurt, no retching, no acid taste in my mouth. It comes than its over.

I still don't like it tho-

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
