Protein Shake help for taste and smell?

Ok, I admit I am a new to this and Protein shakes. I have a strong taste aversion and gag reflex based on smell and taste.

I have done tons of research and purchased Optimum Nutrition 100% whey Protein powder in both Salted Carmel and Double Rich chocolate.

Mixed Carmel with 1% milk (did I mention I don't like milk) but while the taste wasn't horrible the smell killed it for me. I read mixing and letting it sit in the fridge will kill the smell and chalky taste. As well as mixing with Silk soy milk instead.

Anyone have any thought or ideas on how to stomach this stuff?

If you go to vitamin shoppe they have it

I went to the website and found a phone number. They sent 15 samples for $15

I use nectar products. The Protein shakes are delicious and not chalky nor do they have a strong smell.

Today I tried a new drink cupcake batter by protein milkshake. It truly tasted just like cupcake batter! Super yummy, but who can drink an entire cup of batter? I will try the other flavored real soon. Especially since they have a money back guarantee. I bought on Amazon, but they have their own site.

I have found that mixing "Chocolate Mousse" flavored Bariatric Fusion in a weak decaffeinated coffee solution actually tastes pretty good. I drank it full strength pre-op and since I'm just about a week post op, I'm now doing just 1 scoop in 8 oz of weak decaf coffee. You might have to add just a touch of stevia or something, depending on how you like your "Café Mocha".

Before I get slammed, decaf coffee/tea still retain some diuretic properties, but not nearly as much as regular. My bariatric team was ok with it - considering I'm getting in way more than what I need to fld wise. I also make sure to drink 3 8 oz glasses of milk with the Bariatric Fusion for the added 8 gm of pro each.[/quote

I also hate the smell of the Protein shakes. They really make me want to gag. I'm trying really hard to tough it out. I'm 4 weeks post op and have lost a good amount of weight but I know I'm not getting enough protein. I just ordered some Protein powder to put in my oatmeal and my doc said I could add 1 Protein Bar a day.
