When you are at your sweet spot, how much do you eat?

Recommended Posts

I aks this questions for two reasons.

1. I find it hard to measure 1/2 a pita - is that a cup? 1/2 C? etc.

I am going for my second fill July 18 and wonder if what I am eating is good or should a tighten up a little more.

Typical day for me now:

B - 1 packet weight control oatmeal

L - 1/2 Grilled WW pita stuffed with tuna & 1 slice cheese

2 Tbsp. pea and nut salad

sometimes 1-2 pieces of cut up fruit salad

D - 1 Tbsp brown rice

approx. 1 cup of black bean chicken stir fry with veggies

S - 1 pack 100 calorie Peanut Butter thinsations

So what do you guys think?

I can never eat a 1/2 of a pita. More like a 1/4. I can only consume 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food, more like 1/4 at a time. I am now at my sweet spot. It sounds like your diet is right though. Are you losing weight?

I am now after my second fill, but not really sure if I am still eating too much. I was able to more than 3/4, but a little less than a whole toasted greainy bread sandwhich w/ff cheese and lean ham - for Breakfast yet! I think that is too much!

I am at my sweet spot and I can only eat 1/4 of a sandwich at a time. If you can consume an entire sandwich you definitely need a fill. Good luck.

Please remember that everyone is different. Don't ever want a fill that makes you so tight that you are not eating healthy--meat, grains, vegs...only being able to eat things that go down easy. I think your meal plan is great. If you look around the board you'll see that experience bandsters like Jachut in Au eat a very well balanced and full diet. We not only want to lose weight, but keep it off.

Its quite simple - if you're losing weight its not too much. As long as you dont feel painfully stuffed. What someone else eats is completely irrelevant.

And if you're losing weight you dont really need another fill. You can have one of course, if you want to eat less but there's not a lot of point in taking in less nutrients if you're losing weight on a larger food intake. You wont necessarily lose faster either.

What you're eating sounds good, its well balanced and its not a lot of food compared to what you probably ate before. If you're not PBing and having trouble and you're losing weight, I really wouldnt fix what isnt broken.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
