Quinoa or couscous, after surgery?

I know rice is a hard "food" for post op bariatric patients but I am curious about PERSONAL experiences dealing with Quinoa or Couscous?

If you eat it, how long after surgery did you try?

I'll be curious to see others advise. My NUT just told me I could try quinoa in small portions. It is Protein but also carb (though good carb). I've never had it (even pre-op). I am about 3 1/2 months post-op.

I was told I can have quinoa during the regular food stage. Every Dr is different but the regular stage for me started at week 5. He suggested quinoa because it's a good source of protein.

I have no restrictions regarding what I am allowed to eat, just no calories from liquids. Since week 7 post op.
