I'm having surgery tomorrow! I'm so nervous. I've had several surgeries but never by choice. This is so scary. I'm worried I won't be able to stay on the liquid diet. That's really my only worry.

@@ANewMe9/21 yes of course. I didn't have any health issues but can't wait to be this done.

I'm in Stamford, Connecticut!!!!

I've been scheduling all the last minute stuff: clearance from my PCP, final appt. w/surgeon, & Anesthesiologist. Everything is happening so fast! :) I also need to get stuff ready for when I'm home and the pre op diet. How are you doing?

I've got my sheets in the dryer now. They gave me a special body wash to use tonight and tomorrow morning and said to sleep on clean sheets tonight. All the laundry is done. Washing the bathroom rugs now. Funny how you get the nesting urge. At least I don't have to buy a lot of groceries! Tonight I'm going to my grandson's first football game of the season. I'm hoping it will help the nervousness. I took all my measurements and will take a picture tonight at game. I'm stocked up on yogurt, pudding and Protein drinks. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. Surgery at 7:30. The Dr gave me a patch to put behind my ear to help with nausea after surgery. I've never heard of this but it makes sense. I'm to put it on tonight. That way it will be in my system when i get out of surgery.

Everything will work out fine! You will be in my prayers tonight. Just follow your doctor's directions! And I will soon meet you on the other side come Sept. 21st. :) I hope you will be here to calm my nerves! Lol (Even though there will a lot less of you! ;) )

@@ANewMe9/21 i still have to meet once more my surgeon, blood work, on September 8th I decided have the pre op diet with liquids. They didn't ask me but I think it would be good for me.

I watched every single YouTube video about pre op and post op. I'm a big planner so everything needs to be all ready to go.

I can totally relate, I'm a big planner too! I need to get ready for the diet. 1st wk is 1 shake a day and 2 lean meals. 2nd wk is 3 shakes a day and Clear Liquids. Day before is just clear liquids. :/

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
