Hi! I am on the road to getting the sleeve sometime in November. I have type II diabetes and am hoping it goes into remission with the surgery. I was diagnosed 8 years ago and take Victoza and Glimiperide. I am not on insulin.
I have read some concerning facts about patients who are 5 years post Sleeve, including 56% excess weiight loss and only 20% still in remission from diabetes. See the post below and link to the JAMA abstract.

I would love to hear from diabetics who were sleeved and are at three years or more post surgery. Did you keep the weight off and are you still in remission from your diabetes?
I was hoping to go into remission from diabetes for 10-15 years and I am learning that may not be feasible. I don't want to have the bypass as my BMI is 36.
Thanks!
