BIG DAY IS FRIDAY! 8-28-15

Recommended Posts

So as the days and nights slip by and get closer to "THE DAY" I am getting very nervous! I look at my kids and think what if something goes wrong! My little girl starts 2nd grade and my son is going to kindergarten starting MONDAY. I try to think of all the positives and work it out in my head but it is very hard to not be scared a little bit. I am going to show up and conquer the day but WOW I did not think I would be getting this caught up. NOT if but WHEN things get good I will be home Sunday I think the Dr. said so I will post an update if any one is interested. please send good vibes my way I need them!! Have a great night!

I don't have kids, so I can't imagine the nerves you are feeling about them. But, think of it this way: everything you are doing, all that you are working towards is for them as much as it is for you. You will live longer, be healthier and happier, and that is all really great and important for their health and happiness. Everything's going to be great, and you're going to do great. Sending good vibes your way! Good luck to you! :)

It's natural to be worried.

I think you need to focus on your long term health and seeing your kids graduate and get married, etc.

I'm down 80 plus pounds so far. I was worried pre surgery but have no regrets now. I rarely have much hunger anymore and when I do my sleeve vastly limits how much I can consume.

Totally normal to be nervous/anxious/worried. I thought of my wife and daughter and wondered what would happen to them if "this didn't go right". I then thought about what could/would happen if I didn't do it! Good luck on Friday and we'll see you on the other side of the sleeve!

Prayers sent for you @@rmag

You are investing in your health and you'll be a better father for it.

I wish I'd taken these measures when my son was really young. We've missed out on a lot of fun stuff due to what I'm now seeing as the numerous weight-related injuries I had. Doubtful any of them would have occurred had I been closer to goal weight and fit and active.

Wishing you the very best and keep us updated.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
