Goodbye C-Pap!!!

Recommended Posts

I am so happy to be able to say goodbye to my C-Pap machine! I saw my Pulmonologist today and she discontinued my C-Pap -

woo!hoo! :whoo::clap2::whoo::clap2:

I am down 54 pounds, my diabetes is gone, my blood pressure is normal and she said she is 99% sure my sleep apnea is gone!

I have to admit I haven't been using it faithfully, I kept feeling like I couldn't breathe and ripping the mask off in the middle of the night for the past few months! But now, I don't have to worry about it because I don't have to use it anymore!!!!!! :whoo::clap2::whoo:

I'm just a little excited, can you tell? :eyebrows: I just wanted to share my good news with people who would understand!

Thanks Quadmom!

It helped a lot when I first started using it and I definitely slept and felt better, but it is a great feeling to not have to worry about it anymore!

Just wait and see, in no time at all you'll be on here posting you don't need yours anymore either and we can do a little happy dance

:whoo::clap2::whoo: together to Celebrate for you too!

Take care! :)

Congrats Stacy! I also use a CPAP and cannot wait until I can toss mine too. sleeping with the mask and dealing with the air leaks and tangled hose is a pain in the butt. My pressure is pretty low (6 cm), so I am hoping I can lose enough weight by the end of the year to ditch it!

Hi Dawn!

Thanks! Heh, gotta love those air leaks and tangled hoses, lol! :faint:

I'll bet you do lose enough to ditch your machine before the end of the year, and then we'll do a happy dance :whoo::clap2::whoo: for you too, lol -- heck we can throw a tossing out the C-pap party! I'll bring the margaritas! :hungry:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
