  1. OMG, I lost 15.2 lbs in ONE week!!!!!!!! YAY! I LOVE RESTRICTION!!!!!!!!
  2. This time I went back and got my fill, the doc made me nervous by saying that if the band doesn't work for me, then he could always switch me to a bypass patient. And OMG, that is something I am petrified of. I am sooo HAPPY I feel restriction-what an amazing feeling. I am just nervous that I only have 2cc's left in my 4cc band.
  3. I tell you, I just felt like a HUGE failure. I was gaining weight and my self-esteem really went down..........I had a friend t hat was banded, and with ONE fill, she had restriction. I thought I should be the same way. So, let me ask you guys- I was filled on Tuesday................I feel A LOT of restriction (a good thing!)...........will this same restriction stay with me? Or is this only temporary? How long will it last????
  4. Ok, so I am back again. I was banded 6/11/07.......had one fill mid August 2007 and that was it. I had NO restriction and felt like a complete band failure. So, speed up to this year, after attempting Weight WAtchers again and just having a pity party, I decided to go back to the surgeon the other day. OMG-I got my second fill (2cc in 4cc band) and OMG, I FEEL restriction for the FIRST time!!!!!!!!!!:wink2: Soooo, here comes my question. I am on liquid diet for 3-5 days. After this, do I just start to re-introduce normal foods? Do I move to mushies? What do you all do? The *most* I should eat at one sitting is 1/2 cup, right? I know I should know all this, but it's been a year, and I forget. I look forward to chatting with all of you again.............
  5. So, I think I am one of those band failures. I need to get back in the swing of things. I haven't exercised, ate bad foods, and here I am........just about the same weight as June. Anyone have some words of wisdom for me? Some encouragement? I had one fill but I still feel hardly any restriction. I don't have enough nerve to go back to my surgeon-I want to lose some before I go back............HELP!
  6. ok, so i went for my 1st fill today...............it went well............but it did hurt some. he first injected a local anesthetic to numb my belly/port area. and then he stuck the needles in a bunch of times trying nto find the area. it was uncomfortable. he found it and injected 1 cc of saline into my band. my band holds 4cc's............so i guess it's 1/4 full. i am on liquids for 5 days then i can slowly introduce other foods in. it stinks b/c we had already told nicholas we were taking him to friendly's for his birthday dinner. so i ordered an iced tea unsweetened, and a bowl of new england clam chowder ( i know it's not clear, but the best i could do.) i ate about 1/4 of the bowl.............and stopped. more bad news is i scheduled a lunch at red lobster w/a friend tomorrow that is in from california..................thinking i will sip on more new england clam chowder!!!!!! so, doc just said to exercise more and as much as i can..............so i need to make a more conscious effort of that.................. _________________
  7. so i have great news.................went to lane bryant yesterday with my sister and the babies............. pre-surgery i was in a size 22/24 or even 26/28 shirt..................i bbought a size 18/20 shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now it is snug, but fits, i want to wear it for nicky's bday party on 8/4, so i think it will be fine by then! as for pants, i was a size 28 before surgery, and i bought these pedal pants in a size 26 and they fit nice. i know i am still humungous, but just even buying a sm aller size is soooo exciting!!!!!
  8. that is great news! i, too, have sleep apnea (just diagnosed) and although, I do enjoy my cpap, i can't wait to go to sleep like a normal person! congrats!
  9. valzie, sounds good to me! or we could always meet up halfway-it would be nice to talk to someone going thru the same stuff!!!
  10. valzie, so funny............i was in millville today for a friend's party............i live in central NJ, Mercerville, outside of Trenton
  11. New Jersey.............
  12. One of my last straws is people assuming my DH is my brother!!!! DH is a good looking guy (of course I think so), he is fit, muscular-in shape, and I was over 350 lbs. I had many people comment about my "brother"..........even the surgeon the day of the operation (he had never met DH) told my "brother" where he could wait for me.......people just assume he's my "brother" and not my DH. REally is a blow for my self-esteem!
  13. Just got the call. I am approved for sure. Date is Wed., 6/13............ OMG-no one dies from this, right? I am sooo nervous................
  14. I am tentatively scheduled for surgery on 6/13 (still waiting for authorization). I will be staying overnight in the hospital after surgery. How will I feel on Thursday? Only reason I ask is my 4 year old is graduating pre-k on Thursday and is it totally unreasonable to think I will attend? I am assuming I will not be going, but I'd figure I'd ask those who have been through it........................How do you feel and how soon afterwards do y ou feel ok?
