What are some of the things you do to switch it up a little?

Recommended Posts

Once you find a routine that works for you, it's easy to just become programmed to do the same things day in and day out. It takes less thought, planning, effort, it's just easier.

I find myself eating the same foods nearly every day at the same time at the same pace. Not saying this is a bad thing, it's convenient and comforting.

Are you good about switching things up or are you repetitive in your daily routine?

Nothing really....I never had a daily eating routine, so everyday is a little different than the other......I'll go all liquids for a day or two, and that is about the only maintenance I do with the band.

If I switch anything up, it would be at the gym....get tired with the same routine after a few months and will explore other workout options.

Think I will start daily swimming this fall, and then run only twice a week....I swam a few weeks ago on vacation and I was surprised how quickly I tired...so that would be something good to work on.

I'm repetitive but I try to introduce one or two new meals to our meal plans each month. I do need to start to whittle down some of the carbs and fat calories though. Seems like it's easy to alter some recipes by adding real noodles instead of spaghetti squash or double the amount of butter or olive oil. Constant struggle.

@@Bandista I wish I was a switcher-upper!!!! I'm feeling kind of boring lately! I think a lot of my "routine" could be the time of year. Summer is always crazy busy so I tend to fall back on the easy reliable things I don't have to think about much! I'm hoping that when things slow down a bit I will be able to spread my wings and try some new things again:-)

@@B-52 how often do you do liquids and for how many days. I know I've seen you post something about a pouch test or something for maintenance. Would you mind sharing that link for me again? I think this is something good to do occasionally!

@@2muchfun Good to see you posting again!!!! Hope all is going well!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
