I am six days out and nervous as can be. Anyone used Dr. Schmitt in Birmingham. How bad is the first week post op?

Boy do I know how you feel! I'm in Mississippi and I just had my band put in two weeks ago yesterday. I don't know anything about your Dr. as I live in another state, but my sister lives in Birmingham and his name was mentioned as a good Dr. As for the first week; The first two days it hurt to get up and down on the bed, walking around and going to the bathroom. You'll need help. My pain level never went about a 4--I promise. I actually had my gallbladder removed and a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time my band was put in. I did great and the pain of moving around left me in a few days. I am so excited for you. Let us know how you are doing. This is my first post as I am new to the site.
