Ten Days Post Op~ All of my Crazy Feelings

Okay, So I had my surgery on August 1st and ofcourse had the terrible gas pains! Those have finally gone away. I was having what I thought was hunger pains, but turns out it was acid reflux, after three nights of waking up and dry heaving, I decided to do the research and that is what I found out. I went and bought Mylanta the next day and started on it. I went from being constipated to now having diarrhea (Very loose stool) for the last five days or so. I have also noticed that since I started the Mylanta, my urine smells like gas! ha Yes, that is what I said.... My nose is super sensitive as it is, but this is real! I have gone and picked up some Pepto and started taking it instead of the Mylanta, in hopes that it will make some of these issues go away. Is this too much info? ha ha

I am also able to take a bigger "sip" without feeling bad.... Is this normal for tens days out? I am so ready to get to the next phase of eating, I am so over the Soup, Jello and pudding! I am eating like 4.5oz of soup at one time and I think I have done this like three times today. I can NOT stomach another Protein shake, so I add the powder to my Soups, puddings and sometimes my drink. (gross)

I plan to get out and see the world tomorrow, as I can not stay inside any longer. I did make a trip to Wal mart yesterday and I felt super weak... blah!

Other then that, I am doing great and super excited about my new wardrobe!!!

@@The Pool Queen Sounds like your right on track! The unpleasant weeks of healing but it does get better! Will your surgeon prescribe you something for the acid? Maybe you should ask. I've been on one since the beginning and still take one daily just for good measure. "Smooth move" tea is a good natural alternative to Meds. You can but it at most walmart's and health food stores, just drink a cup before bed and it should kick in by morning. It hasn't failed me yet and doesn't cause an cramping (for me). Hang in there everyday that passes gets better!

Hope you feel better. Did your surgeon not prescribe something when you were discharged for the acid reflux? I was sent home with six months of PPI.
