1. Im a very private person, so to post photos of myself, even to this website is not something im 100% comfortable with. This may change in the future, we'll have to see. 2. Im not techie, so to post pics off my computer would take alot of work, and Im not loosing sleep over pictures. 3 . I probably don't have that many pics , good or bad ! 4. Ive been told im attractive, but unlike you Dub, I dont photograph well ! You photograph very well ! You're stinkin' adorable in every picture ! And if you'-re still in doubt, refer back to #1. That is all. ( and to those that did /do pist pics ? Thankyou to everyone, you all look great ! Congratulations to all !

@@pink dahlia - ditto!

THANKS everyone for sending in the pics!

@@Dub - great thread!

Those posting results in here really make a positive impact with people like me....in the beginning stages when it seems we have so far to go. It is nice seeing the people on the other side and thriving.

i've got some WLS appointments later this morning. I can't wait to show up for them. Each appointment made feels like I'm a little bit closer.

This is my start/6 months/1 year photo. I am about 5 pounds lighter than the picture on the right now and more fit.

This is me and my kids at our second mud run, something I never would have done post-op. I was about 5 months post op here.

Here is our latest mud run.

post-175552-0-22573200-1438862335_thumb.jpg

I went from a tight size 20 to a comfy size 8. I have a short, muscular build like my dad, and it wouldn't hurt to have a thigh lift and arm plastics (bat wings!) as well as a boob lift, but college for my kids is more important. I look damn good in clothes and my husband is complaining when I take them off.

@@Dub I show mine, it's right there on my profile when you look at it. I don't normally post a picture with every post though. Some might find that conceded lol! Kidding but if people ask I will post. I show the good and bad, heck I just displayed my old women belly on a post that went a trending! Here let me find some....there you go. Some of those fat girl pictures are pretty embarrassing! I'm just thankful I stopped the beating of the ugly stick! ;) Very Italian :)

Wow you look amazing! I hope I have similar results.

You were gorgeous before, but smokin' now. And your girls are stunning (and I don't mean your boobs)

You either have Greek or Italian heritage? Or no? You're so...exotic. You probably hear that all the time.

@@Elode

You're like my sister. She just recently lost 50 pounds, and she loses a lot in her face. She (although she's quite a bit older than you) has such a thin face now like you. It's awesome, because I still feel my face looks chubby sometimes in pictures. If I could just lose a little more in my face and my boobs, lol!

Lipstick lady, you are so pretty !! Please take this the right way, but your weight loss took 10 or more years off your face ! You look like your kids big sister, not their mother ! Im built like you, 5'3 with a short, muscular build, close to your weight ( Im 143 ) , so I look at your pics and think " hey, thats exactly what I look like ! Not bad for an old broad !" Thanks for providing so much inspiration, and congratulations on your Mud Runs , etc!!! Way to go !!!

I understand your first post and was confused by it as well. More so on people who don't update their profile information where is shows they had the procedure a long time ago, but the weight recorded doesn't reflect that.

Anyways I'll share. I'm down 101lb and about to hit my 5mo mark.

Here I am in October and probably not even at my heaviest before surgery

Here I am right now. I just took this pic at work because of this thread

Almost 5 month

I still have 60+lbs to go, but I fell like a new man already.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
