Starting my journey at BI - Boston

I just had my first visit to Beth Israel today and they started the ball rolling right away! I am scheduled for about 8 other appointments over the next two months. I feel confident I am making the right decision, but I can't help but feel nervous too. I know that it's different for everyone, but curious to hear what your time frame is/was from labs to surgery date? If you are going to BI, even better ;) thank you!!

It took me seven mouths to get all the spots in because of my work schedule, they are great there very supportive.

No surgeon yet. Just at the beginning of everything! A friend had Jones, and recommended him. Were you happy with his work? Thanks!

Congrats! I am about 1/2 way through all post op visits and I meet with the medical director at the end of the month. I had my RN appointment this week and i was just below 40 bmi. So now I need to make sure I don't go below when I see her again at the end of the month. It's strange not trying to lose weight and actively trying to keep my weight up a couple of pounds. ????

Thanks for asking! I feel good. 5 more days. Pre-op diet is going well. I find that I'm not hungry. Just nervous

How are feeling post op?

I'm good. Much better than the day's immediately following surgery. I had a very hard time with the anesthesia. Couldn't stay awake. Had to stay an extra day. Then I learned that morphine and I don't mix.

The first few days I couldn't eat or drink. I wasn't getting all my Proteins or fluids. Not even close. Doing so much better now. I can take respectable size gulps of Water which is really important to me because it's the only Fluid (other than wine) that I love.

Getting 60gms a day is hard, but possible.

Unexpected surprise.... My period returned ????. I haven't had it in months because my IUD, but I guess it's a side effect of surgery.

Starting weight: 276.5

Weight at start of pre op diet: 274.8

Surgery day weight: 264

Yesterday: 252

I'm happy with being 24.5 lbs lighter!!!
