What is your goal weight?

Recommended Posts

My doctor's goal for me is 170, but I'd really like to get down to 158. That would be a loss of 114lbs. I hope this is possible :)

What's your goal? Did you already meet it? Was it the same goal your doctor gave you?

No one, not the Surgeon, NUT or my general practitioner (Dr) have given me a goal to meet. They have told me about all the statistics re the band, sleeve and bypass and how they can differ. I made my goal, I set it on my previous weight loss and how I felt then, how I wanted to feel now health wise. I started at 238 and my goal is 140.

My goal is 150, and I'm 6 pounds away.

I chose that goal becuase it's the highest end of a "normal" BMI. I am currently struggling to get there, as I've been bouncing around 3 pounds for the last three weeks and now I'm just stuck at that weight, stalled. I have technically lost 2 pounds this month.

I used to say whether someone got to their goal weight was all up to them. But now I'm more apt to believe there are other factors involved, such as heredity and environment. I posted a great video yesterday about this very subject.

The one thing the doctor said at the end resonated with me. He said no matter what number on the scale you end up settling on, whether it be 175, 200, or 150 pounds, in the end it doesn't matter as long as you are happy with your body and have a healthy relationship with food. It's knowing that what you are eating is not making you feel guilty, but making you healthy and happy and able to maintain the weight you're most comfortable with :)

No one gave me my goal. I chose 129 because I figured it was more realistic than my life long goal of 119. It's also close to being in the middle of what is a healthy weight for my height. I still would like to hit 119, but that's my stretch goal. I've found that at 129 I can live a very happy and healthy life and I'm not as obsessed about 119 as I could be.

My nutritionist asked me about 80 questions before my surgery and set my goal at 165. My personal goal was 155, because that would put me right in the upper end of the "healthy" BMI range. I've been stuck at 171 for going on a month now and I was stuck at 175 for going on a month before that. So 165 is seeming pretty optimistic at this point. I now have NO desire to get to my original goal of 155, because I would be a freakin' toothpick! As it is, I already have bones sticking out all over the place and I'm wearing smaller clothes than I ever have in my adult life. Just losing the 6 more pounds to get to 165 has me worried I'll be too skinny. NO WAY do I want to be 16 pounds thinner than I am right now!

My personal goal is between 155-160, my surgeon's goal for me is 180. I'm 5'8, and have 107 lbs to go to get to his goal. Hell I'd just like to finally see onederland.

I started at 375.

My doctor's goal weight for me was 235. As far as I was concerned, that was just a suggestion! :-P

I really wanted to be below my high school weight of 224.

When I hit 235, I didn't feel satisfied, so I went for 224 - my high school weight.

I hit 224, and decided to go for 205.

I hit 205, now I'm pretty satisfied. :-)

My doc/nut asked me what I wanted my goal to be. I chose 175. Started at 335, so that would be a 160#loss. I'm nearing 60 down now.

My surgeon never set a goal, but did tell me that the 60% excess weight loss (the average for the sleeve) would put me at 207. I'm 169 right now, and I have 2 goals. First, I'd like to hit 150 and be a healthy bmi, and my ultimate stretch goal is 140 so that I can have a little room to bounce as I transition into maintenance. I'd like to maintain between 140-145. In high school I was typically somewhere between 165-175, so I guess we'll see how it all shakes out.

I had 3 goals. The first was to be 127 which is exactly half the weight I was at my first appointment. I've checked that one off the list. The second is 123 which is the high end of normal BMI. I'm 2 pounds from that goal. My third goal is to be somewhere around 120 so I have a bit of wiggle room. I may not get there quickly as my loss has slowed down, but I WILL get there!

My goal is 135, which is the high end of a normal BMI. However my surgeons goal is 143, because I have a large frame. I don't think I've ever been anywhere close to those in my adult life, so I probably need to see as I get close.

For my height and frame 125-130 is my goal. I haven't ever been lower than 185 since I've been an adult. I'll be doing my happy dance at 179 lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
