Hello everyone. I can't believe 2 weeks. So excited. TXTinana - I've been doing good. Walking almost every day, taking kick boxing 2x a week. It's really helped with the scale, it broke my plateau was having for a few weeks where I gained and lost the same pound over and over. I have ALL my pre-op stuff this Thursday, so I took the day off. My day starts at 9 and my last appointment is at 2. I'm excited to get it done and get more info for what happens after the surgery....I mean I have some idea from all posts and books I've read but I want to see what the NUT says for after surgery and how that will progress.

I'm work and I'm trying to get as much stuff done as possible to make my time away as easy for my colleagues as I can. I'm also trying to get stuff done at home too...it's a busy time.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

That's awesome @@Margie122 ! My home and work life have been so incredibly hectic that I've not really accomplished the amount of exercise that I want to but other than that I am feeling a difference in the way my clothes are fitting and hunger has diminished significantly! I never thought I would take a few bites of veggies or anything and be done.

So I am at the hospital for all my pre-op testing today.just met with the anesthesiologist and he said everything looks great. Next stop blood draw, meet with surgical team, sleep doc, and NUT! FULL DAY but so worth it because my eye is on the prize......8/17!

After meeting with anesthesiology I met with the surgeon's assistant. She answered all my questions. I'll be in the hospital one night unless there are complications. I made my 2 week follow up with her and the NUT. After that I had lunch and went on a two mile walk. Then I met with the sleep doc. She told me that they consider severe sleep apnea anything over 30 episodes in an hour of not getting enough air/oxygen and I had 57 on average an hour per my sleep test! No wonder I was so tired. With the machine I'm averaging 2.8 an hour....anything under 5 an hour they consider no apnea. She also said that she thinks once I lose the weight I won't need the machine anymore and I will get retested again in six months. Final appointment was with the NUT. He was training another dietician who was very nice. I can go on their "Stage 3" diet when I'm released from the hospital which consists of all the liquids in the first two stages plus yogurt (no fruit pieces), small curd cottage cheese (blech! ????), cream of wheat, SF pudding, custard, strained or puréed cream Soup etc. I'll be on that for two weeks and then progress to Stage 4 puréed. It was a long day but so worth it. Hope everyone is doing well!

I was at Dollar Tree and ended up buying little baby Tupperware that look like turtles. Also came with a baby spoon. Meh, it'll work for now.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
