My bariatric journey

Well there was lots of reason and this was a long time coming.my name is miriam and I'm 37 years old. I started this process in 2011 I found a doctor who was a flake and a 5 hour bus drive as i can't drive.so in 2013 i was having more and more problems with strokes and countess other health issues i found yet another primary doctor who referrer me to an amazing surgeon who excepted my insurance it took me a little over 1 and a half years to jump through all the insurances hoops i had to start over in the middle.then there were the cardiac, neurological, seizure doctor, stroke doctor and regular doc clearance as well as coming yup with the $2500 for the after care fee.that was fun because I'm on disability. But i did it i was so excited when i finally got on the surgery docket because off i was not on the docket by the end of April insurance was going to make me start all over again with the whole process .finally on March the 4 2015 i got a surgery date of April 21st 2015. So Ofcourse i ate Pretty much how i wanted right until my pre op testing date not such a good idea because my diabetes was out pig control and my a1c had measured 10.1 on january. In february i learned that they wont do surgery if its over 10 so i was sweating it all the way to pre op blood work 11 days b4 surgery because though i was taking my insulin and keeping my numbers down i didn't know how long it would take b4 my a1c would come down. when i went to my op appointment 1 week after my 10 day liquid diet started my a1c was 9.2 and i was good to go ya me.i weighed 292 ten days before surgery at my pre op i had lost 9 pounds and by the day of by the time i went into surgery the morning of April 21 i had lost i weighed 277 i had lost 15 pounds. Well i won't lie the pain was incredible and i had to stay an extra day because i couldn't get the pain and the nausea under control.by the way having to crush your pills is disgusting and i had alot.2 days after i got home i had really excruciating pain every time i swallowed it hurt so bad across the top of my abdomen so i had to go have and emergency upper gi and all to find out that my throat was spasming every time i swallowed so i had to continue on muscle relaxers for a while but eventually i was ok it took about a month for my big incision too stop hurting and to not be indented.at 3 weeks i got a horrible case of intestinal flu and got admitted for week because i could not keep anything down and the pain was incredible.at my 8 week appointment i weighed 252 for a total of 40 pounds down well its 3 months and 6 days later and i weigh 232 pounds i haven't weighed that since i was 21. I'm so excited i don't have to take 6 of the 10 meds i took on a daily basis ya me. I am having a bit of problems with seizures and some stroke like stuff because i guess my body is freaking out just a little bit. And this week was the first week since surgery that i didn't lose any weight i was sad assert first but 60 pounds is alot to loose in 12 weeks so I'm ok .still working out some snags i have had a few cheat days but im doing well.right now I'm bored with food options and really need recipes. But overall i wouldn't change any of it for the world hear is to a new start at life at age 36.
