Recommended Posts

Tomorrow is Day 1 of pre op. Tonight I prepped. Threw out the last traces of my snack foods: chips, sweets etc.. My food for tomorrow is planned. I have a full liquid diet for 2 weeks.

Good Luck to me and everyone else that starts preop tomorrow! !

I am calling my official pre-op day August 3rd.

I am looking forward to emptying the cupboards.

I do have kids so it will somewhat of a challenge. The cupboards will be swapped around. Family cupboard and my cupboard. Still eliminating the majority of the little junk we do constantly keep in there.

Surgery is scheduled for September 10th.

3 weeks of as strict of a diet as my body will realistically allow.

4th week we are headed to the mountains for fishing, so food is already limited and based on what we catch.

5th-6th week will be cleansing, Get out as much toxins as possible and allowing the liver to shrink.

I like that idea of having your cupboard and the family cupboard. I think I might have to make that happen when I get home.

Pre-op diet started today for me as well, wishing you the best of luck @@rln52 with yours as well!

Going to definitely make separate areas for family & my food. Tonight going to make my SF Jello and pudding don't like flavors of prepackaged ones available to me. What milk products is everyone using-- skim milk versus 2% milk.. wondering if I should buy skim.

I'm actually using almond milk. I bought my husband skim milk this go round at the store in case I needed a backup. He hasn't complained yet lol.

I use to drink almond milk maybe I can switch back. I am using the blender preop and adding milk ice cubes to get it really cold. Going to bring my small blender to work tomorrow.

That's what I am doing at home. I just brought a ready-to-drink shake to work.

i am NOT a fan of shakes.

There is something how it congeals in a bottle if you don't drink it quick enough, that absolutely turns me off.

Taking a drink makes me gag.

Very very uncertain as to how I am going to get through the all liquid portion of my post op.

And very nervous about my Protein intake if I literally cannot drink it.

Perhaps unflavored Protein power in salad dressing? or mixed in with pudding?

NERVOUS !

I have unflavored Protein powder to put in broths. I thought I could also mix it in SF pudding or Jello as well as shakes but I bought Torani syrups to try and make my shakes more like frappes. But I definitely understand the consistency is off-putting.

Where do you buy the Torani syrups? I don't like shakes either but the chocolate splendor Unjury is working out well. The blender makes a big difference. At least preop to get through these 2 weeks.

I have been able to find SF Torani syrups in Kroger in the coffee aisle. A friend of mine found them at SAM's Club so they're probably at Wal-Mart as well.

Are they coffee flavoring?

Where I went did not have coffee flavoring, but I am just adding regular black coffee for now to them. I picked up SF caramel and French vanilla.< /p>

They have all kinds of syrups that can be ordered online. I am thinking about breaking down and getting a couple to give some variety.

Torani Syrup is fantastic.

If you put an ounce in a glass of club soda it makes a classic italian soda.

Also adding a splash of cream makes it an Italian Cream Soda.

Soooo amazing. and zero calories (when you dont use the cream)

My son loves the root beer and the vanilla flavoring.

We buy them both in sugar free

That's kinda how I learned about them. A friend's brother had a whole soda station at his house with just about every Torani imaginable. It was pretty amazing. I need to order some more flavors I'm not able to find at the store.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
