Waiting... and waiting some more pre-op

Hello all!!

My name is Katie and I have been waiting for insurance approved WLS for what seems like my whole life... I have been overweight and moved to morbidly obese in my teens (I started to binge after my dad died) bow topping the scales at 429lbs at 5'11, and while I don't eat my feelings anymore I do have a problem with food portions, well food in general.

I have started my current push for WLS in April of '14 when i found out that I meet their criteria, and finally got the stage 2 approval letter pretty close to my 37th bday (which was the 14th) of this year.... And that makes me super happy (not gonna lie I broke down and cried like 2yr old when I got the stage 2 letter)

I have hope that it will help with the diabetes and neuropathy that go with it.. And the frackin c-pap and the hose that I absolutely HATE! I am already pushing for my appts and got some of them in b4 the end of the month, now just waiting out 6 mnths (maybe, the insurance is unsure if that's a hard 6 mnths) of curbing my eating and starting to motivate, which apparently I lack that gene lol, to lose some weight...

I have read through most of your stories and have to say I am happy that I am not alone and some of your experiences are eye opening and motivational.. not gonna lie some of the ups and downs I'm not looking forward too but I have a good foundation of ppl who support me and am excited to start this right.. This site also helps because it's always easier when I know other ppl have struggled and it's not just me all by myself so thank you for your posts and advice and even the funny stories and not so funny you're all wonderful!
