So my problem is I know I am not following my program the way I should. I just started working I am eating along with a bunch of people. What did you also that helped you stay on tract? I don't dump, or have any side effects to anything I have tried.

If you want the results then you need to stay with the program. I prepared my own meals and generally ate alone. The program is pretty rigorous and hard to stay on track, but it is worth the effort.

Are you tracking what you eat and eating small amounts?

It's of course most important to eat healthfully and follow your program, but I have found even if I do have a "bad" meal, I can't eat very much at all, so when I track my food, I find my calorie intake is still very low. Not something you should do every day, but if you're not eating slider stuff that doesn't get you full, you should still lose weight early on. The real risk is later on down the line, if you haven't formed healthy habits in the first year, it's only going to get harder the further out from surgery you get.

If you haven't been focusing on Protein, that may be a way to get back on track. Make sure you get Protein in before anything else in the meal, and limit carbs where possible. This should decrease hunger/snacking feelings.

I plan my meals. I take my food. I know my limits and it takes will power but I work hard. My coworkers know I won't waiver so they don't try. I dump and I refuse to get sick because it's horrible. You have to work the program. You might lose some weight, but you need to use your tool while it is shedding weight. Get a book and get on track! I know if I can do it anyone can!

I plan my meals mostly I just feel like I have always been able to eat more than I should. Your right I should completely get a book and track my intake more. Thanks for everyone's wise advise and being so respectful about it.

Have any of you bought a book to teach you how to cook better?

I take my lunch every day, so it is already laid out for me. You have to be able to resist. If not, you will end up where you were before.

Don't wait for a book. Download the app MyFitnessPal on your phone and start tracking! It has EVERY food known to humankind in it. Not only will it keep you on track if you are counting calories, it will show you a breakdown of all nutrients so you can watch your Protein carb intake.

Lots of people here work and eat with others at lunchtime. You need to plan, plan, plan.... then plan some more! I ALWAYS carry food to work. ☺️

Well maybe this would help. I was watching this lady on YouTube she got sleeved a year or so ago and she worked at a office she lost like 100 lbs but now she's back at 420 an she said it's because she thought it was easier for her to pick up something fast to eat instead of cooking her own food n packing her food to go so she would get kiddy meals from different fast food restaurants... I think it's sad to go through the pain of surgery just to get back to where u was. Ppl have to understand this is a life long journey yes we're going to make mistakes because we are human but not everyday u have to want the change no matter what please you guys let's not fall into the trap of sugary non healthy eating again

Never said I can eat a large quantity just I am always afraid to fail. I have amazing days, I always have my Protein shakes and Greek yogurt. I am not a failure just needed some guidance. Just I have not had anything my pouch does not agree with.

Melissa same here. I haven't had anything that doesn't agree with me. And knowing this I make myself stay away from trigger food. I said I'd beat my husband if he brings a cupcake in the house lol I could eat it and be just fine. That's what I'm affraid of so..I stay away. Maybe someday I can have a bite and walk away, not now

As for books, I read Al Roker's book, Never Going Back. It was more about his lifelong struggle than his surgery. It had some recipes and sample menus. He also gained back some of his weight by reverting to old habits and mostly eating out. Your co-workers will not mind if you bring your lunch or have to buy very healthy foods. If anything I would hope they would be supportive. Best of luck!!!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
