Official August thread! Where are you guys?

It's so hard but exciting watching all the June people go in and seeing the July bunch start their pre-op diets and get ready for their big day, soooo I thought I would start a August thread for those of us who are gearing up for our turn!!

I have an August 13th date and start my pre-op diet in July 30th and time seems to be dragging by.. I have read all my books combed through this web site and been inspired!!

I have a few worries like my pre-op diet (3 Protein shakes a day and 64 ounces of Clear liquids only) what a bummer I am strangely excited to start that process but know it will be a challenge to be liquid only.. I have heard about the Swanson infused broths and planned to try those but I suppose our area hasn't caught up with the progressive world because our stores don't have them. So hopefully I can order from wal-mart website.. I have not even purchased any protein powders or Vitamins. I sure am excited though. I can't wait to "meet" more August RNYers.

How exciting! I wish you luck. It's so close till your surgery. Are you on a pre-op diet?

Yes I am, I can have regular things just way smaller portions and I chose to stop eating carb breads pasta etc. no snacks and 64oz of water I follow the pre op meal plan they provide in the binder.

I had my surgery on August 4th not loving it lets say its painful on the left side and the gas they fill you with takes a while to get out of your system as I still have it I am just now able to start puree

/ soft foods .I just had some egg could only eat about half of the scrambled egg ..but just the flavor in my mouth was so awesome .

@@MrsAce I'm 5 days post op and doing well. Just trying to get my schedule of all the liquid, protein, meds and vitamins!

Yes I eat protein first and drink lots of water. It's hard not to gulp though lol they told me no protein shakes. I wonder why. Do you drink that

Midtown sunshine! I want to put a schedule on my phones alarms to remind me of when to take my pills and drink my protein and water. I think I am going to need help. I think I need a get up and walk on it too.

Niki15 how long after surgery till you got to eat soft foods?

1 week after you start soft /pureed foods so today I will have scrambled egg then lunch cottage cheese then dinner refried beans but still have to have a shake in between.

I was sleeved on 8/4/15 and I am very happy I did it, but having a few issues.

One week out I can only keep down Water. I have a problem with crushing pills. I was taking kiddie Tylenol for pain, it's extra sweet and thick and I can't believe that kids take this (I stopped taking it).

I have "spit up" or " vomited" a total of 3 times in one week on things other than water.

And I have intense diarrhea (sorry TMI)

So... I called my doc and his office is all cool like everything is ok that's normal...

I am sorta confused...

I am going for my one week check up today and I will give him an earful.
