Official August thread! Where are you guys?

It's so hard but exciting watching all the June people go in and seeing the July bunch start their pre-op diets and get ready for their big day, soooo I thought I would start a August thread for those of us who are gearing up for our turn!!

I have an August 13th date and start my pre-op diet in July 30th and time seems to be dragging by.. I have read all my books combed through this web site and been inspired!!

I have a few worries like my pre-op diet (3 Protein shakes a day and 64 ounces of Clear liquids only) what a bummer I am strangely excited to start that process but know it will be a challenge to be liquid only.. I have heard about the Swanson infused broths and planned to try those but I suppose our area hasn't caught up with the progressive world because our stores don't have them. So hopefully I can order from wal-mart website.. I have not even purchased any protein powders or Vitamins. I sure am excited though. I can't wait to "meet" more August RNYers.

Howdy - I too am on the 25th. Starting pre-op tomorrow.

Look forward to hearing everyone's progression, and am hoping everyone has a smooth transition.

Best of luck with the pre-op diet. I start next Tuesday, the 18th.

Midtown sunshine! I want to put a schedule on my phones alarms to remind me of when to take my pills and drink my Protein and Water. I think I am going to need help. I think I need a get up and walk on it too.

I found an app called Bariatric Timer that allows you to set timers to remind you when to eat and when to start/stop drinking.

I saw that one too. I wish it also kept a timer for the Vitamins that have to be taken 4 times per day.

I don't know how your phone is but on mine I can set an alarm and give it a name so when it goes off it will say on the screen take vitamin or whatever I want it to

August 18 here... is anyone else only on a fast for 1 week?

Monday, August 17th... only a few days away now o.o IM FREAKING OUT A LITTLE :D

Same here. Aug 17th. I'm on day 4 of Preop diet. Not doing too bad, but fixing dinner for the family stinks. I keep smacking my own hand because I start to taste what I'm cooking. Grrrr...

What is your pre-op diet like? my surgeon basically just wants me to have clear liquids two days before and that's about it... I sort of put myself on my own pre-op diet. XD

Same thing here. Clear liquids and 3 protein shakes a day.

Hi. I found out today that I am officially scheduled for August 27. It is sooner than I expected. I start my two week 800 calorie high protien, no carb, low fat preop diet today. Wow, I can't believe it. So ready to be on the losers bench.

Congrats on your daye. It will be here before you know it

Thank you, it will be a busy 2 weeks.

I had RNY on the 10th. I'm slightly confused because j have had no nausea, vomiting and very little gas pains. The only thing I can say that's really different is the feeling in my chest I get after eating anything. Also I have a lot of pressure after meals and sometimes feel like my new tummy is spasming or cramping. I've been trying to take my vitamins and get my water and protein in , but it's been extremely hard. I don't feel hunger anymore. I have been struggling with the head hunger and craving weird stuff like beans crab and salmon lol. Luckily it's stuff I can have in the future. I'm starting to get tired of broth and protein shakes, but I'm in it for the long haul now. There's also this creaking sound coming from my chest when I'm laying down. So weird!

Just got the phone call from the surgeon's office that my insurance has approved the surgery. Pre op diet starts Tuesday and the surgery is the 25th. I am so excited to be starting this new phase of my life! Thanks to everyone here for all of the great information.
