When does your brain catch up.

I am also curious about when the brain catches up. I 14 months post op and down 132 lbs. I went from a HW of 277 to a current weight of 145. And from a size 24 to a 4. I still look in the mirror and do not believe I am a size 4. You look great! And you will like lose several more sizes before your wedding. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    Maintenance?

How do you know it is time for maintenance? Is it a conscious decision or does it just happen when your body hits its new set point? I ask because I am now just over 9 months post op, Hw 277, Sw 246, and Cw 150, my goal has always been 150, but my surgeon wants me to lose another 10 lbs so that if there is any regain I will be where I want to be, but for the last 3 weeks it seems that the weight lose has stopped. And it just feels different than the usual stalls. Could this be an indication that it is time to maintain? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  15. Lol, I just realized this was a gastric sleeve thread, I hope I can still participate as I am a gastric bypass patient. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

Official August thread! Where are you guys?

I will be 9 months on the 27th and am 1 lb from goal of 150. My weight loss has slowed to about 1 pound every week or two, but have not been to the gym in a few months due to crazy school schedule. That is not saying I have been inactive, I have spent a lot of time hiking, and walking across campus adds up to about 4 miles a day. My hair loss has slowed down and I have started to notice my skin is starting to tighten up in my abdominal area and on my face. Hopefully getting back to the gym will help with this. My hw was 277, SW 245, CW 151. Total loss 126 lbs since surgery 94 lbs. Went from a 22 jeans to in some brands a size 4, but most a size 6. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    Post op and diabetes

I was type 2 diabetic preop. At the highest my A1C was 11. Preop it was 8. At my six month post op checkup it was at 5.7. I never used insulin, just metformin and glimiperide to control my glucose levels. Diabetes was the biggest factor in my choosing to finally have RNY gastric bypass. This was after backing out 2 times previously. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

Official August thread! Where are you guys?

I know it is a month late, but finally had my 6 month appointment. Dr. said I am doing great, Vitamin levels are good and Calcium is high normal and should be reduced. He wants me to lose 14 to 24 more pounds in the next 6 months. With a final goal of between 140 and 150. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    Melting

Hi everyone, I thought I would share a funny conversation that went on in my living room last night. I was sitting on the chaise, my husband was laying on the sofa and my 17 year old daughter was folding laundry standing at the end of the chaise. My husband looks over at me and asked, "Have you been on the scale yet (surgery was 8/27/15)?" I replied with, "No, I wanted to wait until I was sure all of the surgery swelling and Water retention were gone first. Why?" He said, "Because it looks like you are starting to melt." I looked at my daughter and she said "He is right Mom, you are melting." I had to laugh. It was too cute. The scale still hadn't gone back to the weight I was at surgery and I do not think I look like I have lost that much weight but apparently I look like I am losing weight even to those who see me all the time. It is definitely a moment I won't forget. Hope you enjoy.

    Anyone With Kaiser's Bariactric Program?

I am with Northern California Kaiser and did not have to do any classes. I had to have my psych evaluation, and have other screenings complete like my female annual, and yearly physical. I did have to meet a pre-op weight loss goal before my surgery would be scheduled then a 2 week liver shrinking diet before surgery. I had my surgery in Fresno.

    What foods are you eating?

I am 3 and a half months post op, and I am eating chicken (moist), beef, deli ham and turkey, cheese, beans, peanut butter eggs, and just in the last couple of weeks started adding in veggies. If my chicken isn't moist though it gets stuck.

Official August thread! Where are you guys?

@tls210 I also am not eating any bread, rice, or pasta, I am allowed red meat, but was only allowed to start eating vegetables 2 weeks ago. I am not allowed fruits, or most grains. I can have quinoa if my pouch doesn't reject it.

Official August thread! Where are you guys?

I posted this in another August thread yesterday. But thought I should share here as well. I decided to take a new picture yesterday. The first picture was not taken at my heaviest but about two years ago, the second was taken yesterday. I am down about 85 lbs total and still want to lose about 40 more. My RNY was on August 27th 2015.
