  1. What does your preop consist of and how are you doing on it?
  2. I am great. I now have a surgery date and have started my 2 week preop diet. Where are you in the process?
  3. Hi. I found out today that I am officially scheduled for August 27. It is sooner than I expected. I start my two week 800 calorie high protien, no carb, low fat preop diet today. Wow, I can't believe it. So ready to be on the losers bench.
  4. I just got the call. I am scheduled for August 27th. 2 weeks from today. So excited!!!!
  5. I have Northern California Kaiser. I had to have clearance from the psychologist, and nutritionist, and the surgeon gave me a weight loss goal I had to meet before surgery would even be scheduled. I met all yeserday so the scheduler should call today. I didn't have documented sleep apnea so I didn't have to do a sleep study. And all of my general health, and women's health issues were already dealt with.
  6. Thank you, and yes I am getting more excited/anxious by the minute.
  7. As of today I have completed and received clearance from the psychologist (yeserday), nutritionist (today), and I official reached the pre-op weight loss goal my surgeon set for me (today). Tomorrow the scheduler should call me to schedule my rny. I started the process on July 17 and hoping for an early Sept. Surgery. Even the nurse stated that I completed my requirements quickly. I am excited, and nervous. I think I will be starting my pre-op diet in 1 week. WOW what a month this has been. I am kind of afraid to undo what I have done these last few weeks.
  8. I found an app called Bariatric Timer that allows you to set timers to remind you when to eat and when to start/stop drinking.
  9. Hi, I was wondering if there are any in the Fresno, CA area.
  10. Have you tried a vegetable based protien? Could be you aren't handling the protien type.
  11. Good luck and congrats on being so close.
  12. I have Kaiser also and started the process in mid July. I am currently 4 lbs from my initial goal set by my surgeon. I have a follow up phone appointment with the nutritionist and my psych evaluation on Tuesday.
  13. Hi, I am 34 and after 2 false starts am finally ready. My weight has started to cause health issues that are well controlled on meds. But my doctor said the meds will eventually take their toll on my body as well. I have attended a seminar, had my first consult with the surgeon, who gave me an initial weight loss goal of 19 pounds from my heaviest, which was 9 pounds from that visit on the 22 of July. I am now 4 pounds from my goal. I meet with the psychologist for my evaluation on Tuesday. I am nervous and excited. I hope to be at my goal weight of 254 by the end of next week. As long as all goes well on Tuesday and I get the last 4 pounds off, I hope to have a surgery date soon. With any luck I will have surgery in early September.
