What do you buy at Costco?

So I took a trip to costco yesterday and was so happy with my finds...but I was curious what others have purchased at Costco.

Produce:

Strawberries

Blueberries

Apples

Grape Tomato

Mixed Bell Peppers

Mini Cucumbers

meats & cheese

Low Fat & Low Sodium Turkey Breast lunch meat (Deitz & Watson)

String Cheese

Cabot Sharp Light Snack Bars - These are awesome with 6 grams of Protein and only 50 calories each

chicken Sausage

Frozen

Shrimp

Polluck Burgers (They are BOGO right now)

I also got a box of Pure Protein Bars.

I am VERY pre-op I'm looking to have surgery in November so I'm trying to make better choices now, since I hear that it helps A LOT with using the tool to it's fullest.

It's on the refrigerator section near the chicken salad, rotisserie chickens, food prepped at costco. It's delish. I add thinly sliced red onion, fresh lime juice and chunks of avocado.

I let my Costco membership lapse just prior to my wls in Oct 2015.

I've yet to renew it because of the stuff I'll be tempted with.

I do want it back to get the deals on:

whole bean coffee

olive oil

seasonings

meats

fresh vegetables

electronics

clothes (went from 6x in shirts to 2x....so yes, clothes are now a possibility, lol)

frozen foods for my family (stuff I don't eat)

Cheeses and fruits are not on my list as they are not consistent with my current weight loss mode. Maybe later on.......

@@Dub I know the sugar from fruit can mess with weight loss if you insulin resistant such as myself... Why would cheese not be consistent with your weight loss mode?... Sorry I'm pre op and trying to learn all I can.. Your post are good sources of info and very positive.

I can only speak in terms for what works........or doesn't work for me.

Others may have had different results.

Cheese, while being an ultra-low carb, moderately high Protein food............is primarily composed of fat, thus calorie dense.

That make it's something I avoid. Nuts are in the same category. Both are too calorie dense for my current goals.

Down the road a piece......if and when I'm below goal and trying to maintain through increasing calories (as crazy as that concept seems to me now.....as an obese dude........may be valued low carb, higher protein add ins to my diet).

For me......at this point in my battle against my weight.......chicken and fish are my two main sources of good Proteins. Admittedly, I use and abuse eggs for Breakfast proteins about as often as I use Protein powder shakes (difference between work days and off days).

Positive is the only way to approach the way we find ourselves....................

I went to costco today, and I bought

Maple Leaf oven roasted deli chicken

Blueberries

Pork loin (package of 5! Going to last forever!)

Laughing cow jalapeno cheese

We bought other things for my husband and daughter, but those are the few things that we bought specifically for me. I renewed my membership yesterday with them, and I'm very happy to say that I wasn't tempted walking through their bakery and dessert section. I had eaten before we went, and was happy to be able to walk right on by all the things I used to salivate over.

@@Megall9 I'm jealous, they only had the creamy swiss Laughing Cow cheese at my Costco! :(

I don't have Costco, I have SAMs club but mostly same thing. I get baby bell light cheeses, roasted chicken, big packs of frozen chicken breast, premier protein shakes, lots of things.

Rumor has costco is the test store for Premier Protein Shake's new flavor: caramel. Has anyone seen it there?

I have bought more than one case. It is great. I buy chocolate, vanilla and Caramel Premier in addition to the other foods -- fruits, veggies, meats, TP, paper towel. Their Vita Rain -- Costco brand Vitamin Water 0 - is great and $6 less a case of 24 than Vitamin Water. I also use their Multivitamin -- I have done so for years.
