Official August thread! Where are you guys?

It's so hard but exciting watching all the June people go in and seeing the July bunch start their pre-op diets and get ready for their big day, soooo I thought I would start a August thread for those of us who are gearing up for our turn!!

I have an August 13th date and start my pre-op diet in July 30th and time seems to be dragging by.. I have read all my books combed through this web site and been inspired!!

I have a few worries like my pre-op diet (3 Protein shakes a day and 64 ounces of Clear liquids only) what a bummer I am strangely excited to start that process but know it will be a challenge to be liquid only.. I have heard about the Swanson infused broths and planned to try those but I suppose our area hasn't caught up with the progressive world because our stores don't have them. So hopefully I can order from wal-mart website.. I have not even purchased any protein powders or Vitamins. I sure am excited though. I can't wait to "meet" more August RNYers.

Alright, this is my first post and I am excited (and slightly nervous) to say that my surgery is scheduled for Aug 17th. Today is my first day on the pre-op diet and the first few hours are going ok. I set hourly reminders in my phone to drink my water, protein, jello, etc. I figured if I can stick to an hourly regimen (as much as possible), then maybe I will have better luck. I have already had small gurgle noises coming from my stomach. Thankfully I have a very understanding boss and told him to ignore all weird noises my body makes and to please have patience with me if I seem grumpy or irritable. :) I'm not looking forward to how I will feel this weekend, as I like to go out and eat on the weekends and obviously that is out of the question. I begged my husband to keep me occupied as much as possible. I know I can do this. I purchased the Vanilla protein powder from Costco. I'm not going to lie, it was pricey but it only has 2g of carbs and 24 or 25g of protein! I am allowed 5-6 a day as long as each protein drink is under 15g of carbs, so that gives me wiggle room to add flavorings. I am aiming for 5 protein shakes a day. No real food for me. I saw someone mention they can have raw veggies and got jealous! :) Alright fellow August people, lets kick some butt!

We can do this! We want to do this!

I can't wait to be a healthier and skinnier me!!!!

On day 4 of my preop diet for surgery august 4. I am allowed 3 protein shakes a day and veggies and I serving fruit. It's getting a little easier. Just the 3 shakes the last two days. I am letting my family fend for themselves!!

I am having a revision from band to bypass on August 12th...this is my 3rd day of preop diet and I am doing ok...I am allowed one meal of 3 oz of lean protein and 2 C of raw or 1 C of cooked vegetables per day and I know that has been a saving grace for me...

my emotions have been all over the place...excited scared anxious calm...I even had an evening where I was crying and feeling sad for the losing the person I have been my whole adult life...Crazy I know but just part of it I assume...
