Official August thread! Where are you guys?

It's so hard but exciting watching all the June people go in and seeing the July bunch start their pre-op diets and get ready for their big day, soooo I thought I would start a August thread for those of us who are gearing up for our turn!!

I have an August 13th date and start my pre-op diet in July 30th and time seems to be dragging by.. I have read all my books combed through this web site and been inspired!!

I have a few worries like my pre-op diet (3 Protein shakes a day and 64 ounces of Clear liquids only) what a bummer I am strangely excited to start that process but know it will be a challenge to be liquid only.. I have heard about the Swanson infused broths and planned to try those but I suppose our area hasn't caught up with the progressive world because our stores don't have them. So hopefully I can order from wal-mart website.. I have not even purchased any protein powders or Vitamins. I sure am excited though. I can't wait to "meet" more August RNYers.

I was surprised also! I had bypass on 8/4 and just advanced to puréed yesterday.

i have been on pureed for almost a week and a half and my bypass was also August 3rd it said I can add soft fish 3 weeks out

@@ShayB78 yes I'm on purred foods. I had to show that I could tolerate purred food in order to be released from the hospital

in the hospital we got clear liquids only then day 3-7 full liquids then day 8 puree

Niki15, just wondering what your favorite pureed food has been. I am struggling a bit with ideas!

well I have only really tried scrambled eggs with cheese refried beans cottage cheese and instant cream of wheat so I am ready to try soft fish soon ..But the cream of wheat I really like I add sweet n low and cinnimon to it yummy .m Any ideas?

Btw not sure how to just reply to a single post and if I am doing it right! I had grits today ( didn't really like cream of wheat)and tonight had ricotta with Parmesan cheese and marianara sauce which was very good. Yogurt of course,,,,

Eek! Just got the call from my insurance! It's a go! Everything has been completed and approved! So, Sunday I start my 3 day liquid diet and Wednesday its go time!! Oh my! I'm not sure whether to be excited, scared, nervous.... For now, I'll go with all of the above!

Yay sassy tassy!!! I'm still on for the 26th also!

August 25th here!! soooo nervous!

I am in day three of my two week pre-op liquid diet. Today it doesn't seem quite as bad. Yesterday was horrible. My RNY surgery is scheduled for August 31. Anyone else having surgery in Western North Carolina?

I am scheduled for Monday, August 24. I am on day 2 of a five day clear liquid diet. I'm not so much hungry, but I am kind of weak. I have been making and drinking homemade broths. I see a lot of you have protein included in your diet - my Dr. said nothing about protein only clear liquids and I have been wondering about not getting enough protein. I am very nervous and excited (at the same time) about the surgery. My Mother had a revision from the Sleeve to Rny n April and had several complications - she is still not feeling up to par. So, all those complications are in the back of my head and making me anxious. Btw, I am in Pittsburgh.

I start my pre-op liquid diet on Sunday. I too am only allowed liquids. No protein, etc. I'm a bit nervous about the liquids only, and I'm sure I will have little to no energy, but that's going to be about the same after surgery. Good luck with everything! Please feel free to message me, and definitely keep us all posted on your progress!

I'm 4 days post-op. You are all going to do fantastic. :D

I am scheduled on the 27th. So excited I can barely stand it. I am 1 week into my 2 week 800 calorie high protein diet and seem to be doing ok although I do seem to be more tired than usual. One more week Can we speed up the clocks?

Thursday August 20th! Excited / terrified on the eve of my surgery.

yay!!! I hope it went well!
