Hey everyone!

My surgery will be July 22. I start my pre-op diet on July 12 and it is 4 Protein shakes a day plus some yogurt, cottage cheese, Jello, and that's about it. I am terrified of the pre-op diet... I think more so than the surgery itself, LOL.

Hi everyone! I had my band to sleeve revision on July 9th - feel great! Just a little sore and walking helps. I did gain 7 lbs from surgery but lost that plus 2 more. I am trying to figure out what to eat on the puréed foods portion for 2 weeks. Any ideas?

It is nice to talk with you. I'm Heather and I had my sleeve + a hernia repair on 7/8, in NY. I am grateful that heath insurance that paid for it. My experiences so far have been: manageable pain, little to no real hunger, improvement in my energy and alertness and my skin clearing up (score!). It is strange feeling physically, emotionally, and socially. I am excited and look forward to reading more.

I don't get to do pureed yet but this blog looks great.

Heather

Hello all a quick update. I was sleeved on Jul 9th. I feel amazing no pain gas gone and dropping weight. My HW 343 SW 333 CW 323 that's a 10 pond lost in 5 days not the best but definitely progress. My struggle is definitely getting the required amount of liquids. Once I do 4 ounces of Protein shake that's sweet I try to sip Water but then I have that nasty taste so I try crystal light can't get much of that in because it's sweet. I can't stomach plain Greek yogurt so I tried Greek 100 flavor yogurt I can get about 1/3 of that down before either I just don't want it no more or I start burping crazy (a sign of being full I guess) then by the time I wait to drink I'm really not thirsty or my sleeve that I call Minnie starts to cramp so I don't want to drink either. But overall I feel amazing.

Let me know how yall ate doing post op.

Tiff

Hello Everyone,

My gastric sleeve surgery is on July 20th. Very excited that it's finally approaching. I'm on my 2nd week of the liquid diet. It wasn't as bad as I thought.

Good luck to all July Sleevers. ????

Congratulations guys for joining us on the losers bench. This by far is not easy. I am still struggling with myself and can't seem to keep food off my mind. Hopefully when I can get to puree stage it will all change.

My sleeve is a beast... omg! She arrived July 14. I am learning how to live with her. It just seems like she is in the form of an hour glass and liquids take for ever to go down. My question is for the post op... has anyone started doing any type of exercises yet?

Got my Sleeve on the 16th. everything went really well, no pain. still a little gas. so far have only drank Water, Gatorade g2 and Syntrax nectar fuzzy navel. Haven't had any problems drinking anything, have to take slow sips on the Protein, seems like that gets caught up in the gas still.

Think I may try broths or Soup sometime later this week. my doc want me on liquids, everything strained for 2 weeks then on to pureed.

Oh, no hunger at all yet. haven't got on the scale, think I'm gonna wait till my 2 week followup visit. lost 15 lbs on the pre-op liquid diet (10 days)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
