How long should I wait before I want to get surgery part 2? Has anyone ever done it?

My surgeon avoids the question. He keeps saying I'll get there, but I see nothing going anywhere. He won't even talk to me about the topic and always changes the subject. I asked him to do an xray to see if maybe I stretched my pouch, which I have insurance so no biggie there, but he won't even do that. I just want to know about how long I should wait before I go and consider part 2...

I am not sure what surgery part two even is? Are you saying your sleeve has failed and need a revision or are you talking about plastics or what?

I have the same question. I wasn't aware of a part two of the bypass.

The only one I've heard of is the Duodenal Switch (I think) which has the sleeve as the first part. Since so many people had success with the sleeve procedure they started offering it as a stand alone procedure (or so I've heard).

Sorry I thought I posted this question in the sleeve part of the site. But I was told part two of the sleeve is basically the bypass. I'm so lost about all of this, it's not even funny. Not happy that I stopped losing weight after 4 or 5 months. And I'm not happy that my surgeon won't even talk about things that I bring up or answer my questions. He beats around the bush. I have to go see him tomorrow for my 1 year appointment, and if he is still the same way I will be seeking a new surgeon and second opinion, that's for sure.

Maybe your surgeon is confused, too. The Sleeve is a one time procedure.

As to your weight loss slowing down, are you getting in all your Protein and fluids every day? Are you exercising?

It's the DS. I believe bariatric pal has some forums dedicated to it.
