The thing I suggest is find a cup about 1/4 of a cup and fill it with what you want to eat. and it should take you about 20 minutes or so to eat that and use a baby spoon for your bites. wait 5 minutes after the first bite and 10 minutes after the second bite and you will start feeling the full feeling. It does matter what you put in the cup also lol. you can eat in about 3 hrs later again and have sugar free popsicles in between. helps curb the appetite. That is all I have for ya good luck you are doing great

I really don't have that problem though I really have to force myself to eat. I don't get hungry. I think if you over eat once or twice then you get hunger pains So I am told by a friend. as I said I just do not get hungry much but things sure smell good when I cook on the Treager BBQ. It is kind of funny I make this little tiny hamburger about the size of a fifty cent piece lol.I chop it up into little pieces. and I am full afterwards. My stomach hurts if I go to far and I only did it once. It felt like a knife stabbing me in the sternum. It catches your attention real quick lol. I have not lost at all on week 4 and some of these beautiful people on this site have told me that is normal your body has to start changing.

I'm 6 weeks out and have only lost 21 lbs. I get my Protein in and Water. I have started working out. However I'm always hungry I don't feel as if I have a sleeve. The first 2 weeks I did but once I went to soft food I could not feel any restriction any advice?

I am 6 1/2 weeks out and have only lost 14 pounds. Same as you getting all Protein and Water - no cheating. Hungry and can consume 8 ounces before fullness feeling.

I'm 7 weeks today and have lost 18.5 lbs.

I feel quite disappointed as 11 of that was in the first week. I fear I won't lose very much despite exercising and eating my Protein and drinking my water! Sigh. Anyone get past this point with success later on or are we all just the ones who bring the average down?

Guys, it's okay. How fast you lose just all depends on some things that are, quite frankly, out of our control. Age, gender, starting weight and BMI. I was right there with you. I think I had lost 19 pounds by 6 weeks. 50 some at 6 months.

Did I look at other's results and get completely frustrated? YOU BET! But then I finally decided not to waste precious energy on worrying about how much weight I'm losing compared to others. It's not a race to be won. It's a lifestyle change that won't end just because we get to our goal weight. What's the hurry? Enjoy the journey and your new life!

Now here I am, 10.5 months out, and am 10 pounds to my goal weight. Do I feel like a failure because of my perceived "slow weight loss?" ABSOLUTELY NOT. Because ultimately it's about getting there, not how long it took.

Patience, persistence, and resilience. Stick to your plan, find some exercise you love to do, and you'll be there before you know it :)

What do you mean by "getting in my water"? It should be 64+ ounces a day. Remember that you may be coming to the end of The Dreaded Week-3 Stall. As soon as that's completely passed, you should start losing again if you follow the rules. Remember also that hunger is often thirst in disguise. Keeping your sleeve/pouch full of fluids helps with pretty much every aspect of this process. Good luck!

Well i was the same. I threw a carb in there a stella doro Breakfast treat. Went down great and it triggered my weight loss again. I started at 205 week of surgery which was 6/4. Im down to 186 this morning. You have to change things up a bit. I think you have to have 600 to 1000 calories a day otherwise your body doesn't want to let go of the fat. My problem is i eat too fast and then i feel it. Soft foods go down easily. Dannon light and lively yogurt banana, lemon raspberry and i found a chocolate cherry which is heavenly but hard to find. Check target for that. Salmon is great and filling and goes down great

I am almost 6 weeks and trying not to get discouraged I eat Protein, get my drinks in

but have almost no energy. Trying to move but am feeling defeated with a two week stall. What should I try? I'm supposed to start solids soon but am afraid I'll gain instead of lose.

Don't worry we all go through that stall. And about eating the solids just be gentle on starting them. Because your mind goes nuts as in oh this is good . Lol . You eat right and stay on your program you will lose. I am 8 weeks out and I still have energy issues . But I am still losing weight. Keep up the good work . Remember stalls are normal even if your doing everything right. This will pass

Thanks for the encouragement!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
