Hey there September sleevers! Any one out there?

Thank goodness my date is Sept 3. Just found out I have high blood pressure & had to start on high cholesterol meds. If ever there was a need for this surgery it's now.

I just found out I was approved by my insurance on Tuesday. So, started the liquid diet Thursday since Wednesday was my 60th birthday. This is day 2 of liquids only and I have a killer headache. I'm sure it's just detoxing but it hurts! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. My surgery date is 9-2-15.

Welcome ExcitedNana - just so happens I am a Nana who recently turned 60. My surgery date is Sept 8 and I am very excited! Not looking forward to the pre-op diet, but I will get through it! Wishing you the best!

Turned in my letter of recommendation from my primary care physician today. Dr's office sais it was fine. I only have one more nutrition visit left on September 9th then I'll get a date. Already had my exercise classes, 12 day liquid diet to go also. They say still possible for a late September date still. I hope so. Getting more real to me. Can't hardly stand these last two weeks of waiting. Lol. Very ready to begin my journey and start my new life and start working out and being healthy!

Hello all,

I just found this thread last night. I'm happy to report that I'm scheduled for 9/14. I just have two visits to the doctors left. A pre op nutrition class and to see the surgeon. It's all a bit surreal. I was on the fence about a date for so long because I did not have the 6 months nutrition but I did have 6 months of weight watchers plus very good doctors notes. I really thought I would be denied but thankfully the coordinator said we have nothing to loose but try so she sent it in August 6th and the day before my birthday I got the news it was accepted. "Happy Birthday to Me"!!!

I just got the call yesterday and I have a surgery date of September 28th. I'm meeting with my doctor next week and have another nutrition appointment in September. Start a two week low carb diet on the 14th.

My first night on this website. My surgery is scheduled for September 2nd. Scared! I had a nightmare last night. I would like to friend some people going through this at the same time.

Thanks

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
