Sherry, my doctor pushes the Protein for muscle and he said to prevent hair loss. So because I'm 50 I need to build more muscle.

Thank you!! That's the first before/after pic I've taken! I'm losing lots of hair every time I shower but take Biotin everyday, and I think that's helping. I have naturally curly hair (& a lot of it) and it's basically your body's way of adapting. Good luck to you and please let me know if I can help in anyway!!!

I certainly can relate. I am still making Dishes that are way too large and end up throwing most of it out. I get excited to try a new Recipe, and eat 3 or 4 bites and I am done. I am 4 Months out and hope it gets better.

I am two years out today and I eat 5-6 bites and I'm done! I love love love that I no longer live to eat.

LLawles,

I have you beat! I'm almost 61, and I agree I need to work on increasing my Protein. I do try to eat Protein first, and yes, I have gone though the "losing hair phase". Thank God I have a full head of hair! My Surgeon said the Hair loss will subside with time.

I hate eating now. I had a good day on Tuesday with no throwing up but yesterday I made myself a tiny piece of salmon and a half a can of asparagus and only ate about a quarter of it, then I spent the next hour in pain and vomiting. This is only my second week being able to eat soft foods and I hate it. I think I'm just going to drink Protein Drinks for the rest of my life. I'm sure it will get better down the road but right now I don't want to eat.

I was told (or read somewhere) to hold off on asparagus because it's very fibrous. I wouldn't eat it in my soft foods stage (had to throw out some my mom bright me this week which was a bummer because I LOve asparagus). You may want to check with your NUT about it.

You know what Inner Surfer Girl you are probably right. I completely forgot about that. Now it makes sense all the vomiting. Thank you :)

This has been the hardest part for me so far. I have been introducing foods that are on my NUTS list one by one and have been able to control the introductions for the most part. But, when my mom or sister have asked me if I can have something I have to stop and think and go into research mode. I can't just automatically try something to see if I like it.

@@Inner Surfer Girl

I'm 4 months out and still can't eat many vegetables certainly not at the same time as meat. I still vomit 4-5 times a week. (I sure don't recall hearing about this much vomiting pre-op). The Protein drinks save me. Otherwise I'd never get enough Protein.

Surfer girl, just want to say that early on I read about others eating all kinds of foods successfully. I'd try them and up they'd come. So I'm pretty careful still. The fabulous news....I'm rarely hungry and when I am, it's REAL hunger that is satisfied with a small amount of food. I love that my old favorites are not calling to me all day. It's a near miracle.

I hear the hunger and cravings can come back so my mentor in all this said to enjoy the ride while it lasts. There are some that gain their weigh back back or never get to their goal. So in a way I'm very grateful I still struggle finding healthy foods for my tiny tummy. The weight keeps coming off.

Love my life!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
