  1. What is Karen Carpenter mode?
  2. I keep telling myself it will get better with time. I guess it is just hard to get myself used to such small amounts of Food. I, as a "fat girl" all my Life am just used to eating larger Portions.
  3. Sorry if I disappoint you Countrygrrl, My Surgeon and Nutritionist encourage me to "eat normally", but to modify. I like Pizza and elect to eat the Goodies on Top. To me, the Toppings are the best part and I figure the Calories in to my Daily Allotment. To each his own.
  4. I am almost 5 Months out, and having a hard time enjoying Food, or finding Food that settles with me well. I really thought by now that I would be tolerating things better. I have a taste for something, spend the time to make it, take a bite or two, it doesn't set well on my Tummie, and the rest goes in the Trash. Tonight I thought I would scrape the goodies off of 2 pieces of Pizza. I could only eat the goodies off 3/4 of the first piece. I just can't get used to eating so little, and I know what the results would be if I tried to stuff more in. It is just frustrating to re-learn eating. Guess I just needed to whine. Sorry.

  8. I am two years out today and I eat 5-6 bites and I'm done! I love love love that I no longer live to eat. LLawles, I have you beat! I'm almost 61, and I agree I need to work on increasing my Protein. I do try to eat Protein first, and yes, I have gone though the "losing hair phase". Thank God I have a full head of hair! My Surgeon said the hair loss will subside with time.
  9. Yes, only 3 or 4 bites and I usually feel nauseated for an hour or so. Protein Shakes give me "the runs" so I don't do them. I never reach my Protein Goals, but my Surgeon doesn't really push People to do so. I like losing the Weight, but sure don't get much satisfaction from Food like I did before.
  10. I certainly can relate. I am still making Dishes that are way too large and end up throwing most of it out. I get excited to try a new Recipe, and eat 3 or 4 bites and I am done. I am 4 Months out and hope it gets better.
  11. Sorry you are having to go through all of this. Thinking of you. We are here for you.
  12. My hair is everywhere except for on my head!
  13. It's happened to me many times. I was sleeved on 12/30. I think I am doing all the right things but still have these bad episodes. Not good.
  14. I drink Vodka and I am almost at 3 months. I consider the Calories in my Daily food Plan. Sugar is a worry if you are using Mixers. My tummy tolerates Alcohol much better than Food, and it is more enjoyable.
  15. My Surgery was 12/30. I have been stalled for the last 5 weeks. Lose a pound, gain 2, lose a pound, just staying the same. I feel like I am the Poster Child for "Failure". Afraid to go to the Dr. at the end of the Month. Will not be meeting his Weight Goal if things keep going this way!

  17. I don't get Hangovers. Maybe because I am used to drinking!
  18. I drink Vodka Martinis and am 7 weeks out. I don't get anymore drunk than I used to. I guess it affects each person differently.
  19. I wouldn't eat Steak. I had Moo Goo Gai Pan, with Egg Drop Soup. And another time had Seafood Delight, (shrimp, fish, scallops and vegetables), with Wonton Soup. Didn't eat the rice.
