Rough week got rougher

I mentioned the pain I was in last week. Well it got worse on Monday and has been progressively worse this week. I went to the ER today. I have a 9 cm abscess and a leak. I am about to go in to have drains put in for the abscess. Tomorrow we will be dealing with the leak. Not the odds I wanted to beat!!!

You can survive this. It's not fun, but totally doable. When I had my hysterectomy I had a 12cm abcess (~ 5inches) that for whatever reason the doctor lanced w/o anesthesia! I ended up getting it packed and have a nurse come out 2x's a day for wound care.

Good thing you went to the ER and got checked. Just follow doctor's order and you'll be good as new.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but they're going to fix you up and you're going to continue on your journey. Keep us posted, please!

All of us just hope this never happens to us…so sorry it has to be you. Get that leak fixed and I wish you strength and patience for the road you have ahead. Please when you can keep in touch. Contact personnally if you need to just VENT.

They will take good care of you.

Well, that sucks. I am so glad you went to the ER so you could find out what was causing your pain. Now they can work on repair and healing. Sending wishes that you heal quickly and the pain stops.

So glad you went to the ER. Im sorry this happened to you. I know it brings anxiety and fear. One day, one thing at a time. It is A set back but they will get you back on your journey. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Thanks everybody. Just to update, I had laparoscopic surgery las night to clean the abscess out and install four or five drain lines. Today they plan on putting in a stent in my stomach to relieve pressure off the leak so it can heal. Tomorrow they will install an IV pic line for antibiotics. I will be in the hospital til at least Sunday. I am in ICU right now. Not out of the woods but moving towards the edge of them.

So sorry you are having to go through this. Hoping and praying for a quick recovery for you. Take care.

Wow that is horrible. I am praying you get better soon. Please keep us posted.
