My Grandfather had a heart attack

Recommended Posts

My Grandfather just had a heart attack. My mom, and her parents are somewhere near Padre. My dad called me a few minutes ago. Mama had called him crying and told him to let my brother and me know and hung up. He said that he could hardly understand her because she was very distraught. He was taken by helicopter. My mother is driving to the hospital. I am so worried about her driving if she is in that bad of shape.

Lauri, sending (((hugs))) and prayers to you and your family for good results with your grandfather. Was he by himself when he got sick? Has he had previous heart problems? Where are they taking him? We live in a wonderful time with so many medical options available to us. Your Mom will be fine. God gives us unimaginable strength when we need it the most!

I really don't know many details. Dad said he could barely understand Mom. Last year at this time he had a heart attack and spent several months in the hospital. He had a quadruple bypass at that time.

Thank you guys for listening and being here for me.

Sending lots of positive vibes and prayers your way. As someone that has had their share of tragedy lately I so understand your situation completely. My thoughts go out to you at this time. And yes, God does give us strength to handle these types of situations. Put your faith in HIM to get you through.

Thank you one and all. I talked to my mom a few minutes ago and she said that he was in ICU and that he seemed to be doing ok. They are running all of the test on him right now. I appreciate all of your support. Being somewhat of a hermit for the past few years, I really don't have any friends around here-it's so nice to know that you are all here. ((((HUGS)))) Can you feel them?

Hey-my mom beat the helicopter to the hospital!! SCARY HUH? Grandad told her that if he had known she could drive so fast he would have ridden with her. What a character!

My heart goes out to you and your mom, Lauri. It's so hard when a parent is sick. Take good care of yourself so you can take good care of them. Best wishes to him for a speedy and thorough recovery!

Lauri, hope your Grandfather will continue to get better and better. Maybe the helicopter service should consider hiring your Mom. She must be a former "carpool Mom"! She knows how to "cut to the chase". LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
