I expected to be cold, but never like this. I am wearing a hoodie 24/7. I've lost 20 lbs since my 4/15 surgery. I live in Houston, so they have those a/c's running as we are getting warm outside. My husband made a comment that I move a lot after surgery. I told him it was because I am so cold. I am trying to warm up! Am I alone on yhis?

This is very common. Fat is an insulator. When you lose fat, you will feel the effects of cold easier. This will affect your extremities first, your hands and feet. I live up north and during the winter, using hand warmers in my gloves became a necessity.

I also had surgery on 4/15 and have been cold ever since! I thought I was crazy because I use to be the only one who was hot and sweaty all winter long and I live in Wisconsin!! Now it's in the 70's and I have on long pants and a sweatshirt!!

My surgeon told me this would happen and she was right! It isn't quite as bad for me at two weeks out, but before that I would suffer from being cold and waves of chills.

I am always cold now and am 7 months post op. It usually starts with my hand and feet. Once they are cold, the rest of me is freezing.

I'm always cold now too (sleeved April 20/15) - maybe a blessing in disguise. The summers nowadays tends to get very hot here (~30C/ 86F), so kind of looking forward to feeling comfortable. Not sure how the winters are going to feel though since it does get very cold (~ -30C/ -22F).

????my heating pads....I also have been known to use the hair dryer on and in my shoes to warm up my cold toes. That is why I dream of Hawaii ????

I am always freezing too. It was 83 here yesterday and I was in long pants and long sleeves, shopping. I looked around and everyone was in tank tops, shorts, and flip flops.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
