I was sleeved on April 6, too. Missing food a little, but it's tolerable. My nutritionist has me on four Protein Shakes a day. Ten more days until soft foods! But I can't complain, I've lose 37lbs total (incl pre op diet) and 22lbs came after surgery.

I was sleeved on the 7TH. After a somewhat rough start and 2 night stay in the hospital I am finally starting to feel pretty good. Getting all meals, Protein and liquids down plus medications is very time consuming and difficult. No vomiting yet, thank the good Lord. Lots of gurgling, burping, etc. Lost 10 lbs so far.

I had my first post-op appointment on Wednesday as well. It went well, I suppose, the scale hadn't budged from the surgery date weight, but I weighed Friday and it showed I've lost 9lbs since surgery? I'll update officially when I go for my one-month post op appointment.

Hi all I'm a newbie to this site but already have picked up some good info. I was sleeved 14.4.15 and I'm 5 days out. I'm feeling ok so far. What did everyone start eating after 5 days? What was your diet like?

Hey Carol, welcome! At 5/6 days post op, I was still on "clear" liquids, though my surgeon and NUT allowed Protein shakes and Protein powder mixed with Water. Lots of broth, Jello, crystal light, Premier Protein RTDs, and ProtiDiet chicken Soup (SOOO good).

Good luck!

I had surgery done on 4/14/15 it has been 6 days I want to eat everything, i feel like I'm starving. Day 1 I had only Water and ice chips day 2,3&4 I had water and Protein Shakes, day 5 I had a little bit of Greek yogurt with some chocolate Protein Powder mixed in it (approx. 2oz) and some chicken broth, not at the same time, but during the day, day 6 I had 1 apple sauce no sugar added organic. 3.5 oz. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to have these things in my first week but I feel great. Keeping all Fluid down and incisions are healing good. My information pack I got to refer to after surgery says I can have things that can slip through a funnel. I'm hoping what I'm doing is ok. I've tried calling my Drs office to ask but the time difference between where I had the procedure and where I live is a problem. ( I went to another state to do my sleeve). Someone please let me know if what I'm doing is DANGEROUS.

I had my first post op appointment. I haven't weighed myself since my last appointment on March 25,2014. Yesterday I was down a whopping 36lbs. I was so surprised. I refused to make myself crazy weighing everyday because I didn't want to be caught up in only the numbers. So my goal is to not weigh myself until my next appointment May 18th.

Hello Cars, sounds like you're doing well. For 2 weeks post op I was allowed only Clear Liquids and Optifast shakes. Week 3 full liquid .. Which includes clear liquids plus yogurt and milk , unsweetened Breakfast drink (carnation instant breakfast) cream Soups, cottage cheese. Week 4 I'm allowed purees ( next week). I think you're doing fine with those things.. Just make sure nothing is too thick for your new stomach to handle.

Hi, Cars, I was only allowed clear liquids and broth and the first week. Week 2 and Week 3 are Protein shakes, but I can have a little bit of yogurt with my Protein Shakes. Sounds like maybe you were a little early with the applesauce and yogurt, but doctor's orders vary so greatly, and if you are feeling fine, it sounds like you are good. My doctor gave me a very explicit list of what to eat, so I don't have a lot of wiggle room. Good luck!

Great job losing 36 lbs, SleevedCJB! I'm down 35 lbs since starting my pre op appt. The weight loss slowed down a bit, but like you, I'm trying not to be a slave to the scale. I'll weigh myself once a week and that's it. And I know I need to start exercising now that I'm feeling more energetic.

Need to get more Liquid Protein. Go to a local natural grocers (ie: Whole Foods, Sprouts) and get Bone Broth. It has 9 grams of Protein in 8 oz. Then use one egg and scramble it. Slowly whisk the egg into the boiling broth. You have egg drop Soup and 13 grams of protein!post-33220-14297243227449_thumb.jpg

Everyone sounds like they are doing great. I feel kinda depressed because I had the sleeve on April 6 and I have lost 17lbs. I hardly eat or drink anything because I rarely feel hungry. I thought I would've lost

More by now

I've only lost 20 pounds since surgery. Since my pre-op diet, I lost 35. I felt like it was slow too until I realized that I've lost 35 pounds in a month. That's incredible! So even though the weight loss has slowed, I know that it's going to fluctuate and I'm going to stick to the plan and ignore the scale. Good luck! And try to force yourself to eat/drink something - I've heard of people fainting because they weren't getting enough nutrients.

Still have lots of burping and the Protein Shakes seem to go right through me.I am on soft foods now and if I'm careful not to overdo it's ok. Down 12 lbs since surgery. How's everybody else doing?

Today was my first day of soft foods. I feel almost normal! I still have some burping issues, but I think it's when I drink too fast. I'm down 40 lbs, 25 since surgery. Keep trucking along, all!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
