I was sleeved on 4/8 and I feel utterly lousy. No real pain, just can't seem to get much down at all. Forget about Protein drinks, I just can't do it. Tried Isopure and watered down premier shakes. No go for either one. I struggled to finish a 16oz bottle of Water yesterday. Hoping to double that today as I'm sure dehydration feels even worse than how I'm feeling now. I just keep reminding myself that this is temporary and will pass.

How are you doing?

Ugh sorry to hear. I'm able to keep things down but still have some pain like spasms when I drink . I had 5 incisions and they all hurt. U didn't think I would feel this bad afterwards. Telling myself the same thing, this is temporary

I meant to say I didn't think I would feel this bad afterwards

I was sleeved on the 6th. The first day was gross. I ended up vomitting blood while in recover and the 2nd night I drank WAY TOO fast and vomited again. I was released on Wednesday evening and didn't have anything else that evening other than a few sips of Water. The next two days were okay with getting fluids down. Thursday was only 30 oz and Friday was 50oz. Today I'm up to 38oz so far. I've only taken pain meds the first night home and before I went to bed the 2nd night.

Hope gets things better. I'm so ready to chew food.

I was sleeved Wednesday 4/8 and today is the best I've felt so far, with that said, I still don't feel "good".

My tummy is sore, but not the incisions thank goodness! I've been drinking Water and juice, the g2 Gatorade went right back out unfortunately... Tried some cream of Tomato Soup (probably not the best choice bc of the acid) and now I feel like I have to burp and can't!!! It sucks! I just want to take a bite of something, anything!!!! #thistooshallpass we'll see!

I hate that feeling of needing to burp and couldn't. That has passed already........ Lol

How long did you have this feeling before it "passed" lol

And do you think it was from something you ate?

I think I was trying to drunk too much. And I was filled with gas from the actual surgery. Gas was trying to get out from every direction but couldn't. It only lasted 3 days for me and noticed more when I took large sips. Now if I do take a large sip I actually burp

Hello. I had surgery on April 6, as well, not feeling the best , but not too bad. I was something to eat, but I keep telling myself it's all mental cause I'm not hungry at all. I do have the spasms after I drink that don't feel good at all

I haven't weighed myself except for the day after I returned home (Thursday) and I was disappointed cause it said I didn't lose any since before surgery and *I KNOW* I had to have lost something being on barely anything pre and post op.

I, too, was sleeved on 4/6. I'm feeling much better than I did Monday - Wednesday last week. I was only allowed to have ice chips the day of surgery, not that I wanted anything else. Then next day, I was allowed Liquid Protein, Water, crystal light, and this Protein chicken broth they had. The chicken broth was the only thing I didn't hate. I threw up on water because I tried to drink too much too fast - about an inch worth of a 16.9oz bottle of water. I felt awful and dry-heaved a few times before I threw the water back up. :(

I've been fortunate, though. My surgeon wants me to get 100g of protein a day, and I've been able to do that since Thursday. I also finding myself wishing I could eat something, though I'm not actually hungry. It's a mental thing we all gotta work through, I think.

Part of the reason I sought out a forum for WLS/VSG specifically is because I weighed this morning and am VERY disappointed. When I weighed at about 5am when my husband was getting ready for work, it was showing that I've only lost 0.8 lbs since the day of my surgery. I went back to sleep and weighed when I got up around 9:30a and it showed that I've lost 3.4 lbs since surgery. I'm not sure if my scale is just jacked, or what. But I can't help but feel like I'm screwing up somewhere... But I KNOW I've been following my surgeon's meal plan / allowances exactly and I haven't cheated. My husband and I have even been going on walks around our neighbor hood - we took a walk that was over a mile yesterday...

If I'm being completely honest, there's a part of me that is fearing that I'm going to "fail" at this, too. However, my rational side is telling me that it's still really early in the game to be worried about it.

I had my surgery Thursday and I'm having those spasms when I take a drink. Even if it is a small sip I get a sharp pain across my chest. Does anyone know how long this usually lasts? I'm so ready to feel normal again.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
