Newbie Here :)

Hi everyone! I'm Nyxn and this is my first time here. I have been through a weight and lifestyle management for the past two years and my bariatric surgery has been scheduled for April 20th. I'm currently 320 lbs and have been overweight most of my life. I had hoped to manage my weight through diet and exercise, but it has been a huge struggle, so I've decided gastric surgery is the best option for me and have chosen to have the laparoscopic sleeve done. Has anyone gone through the surgery recently?

I'm now on Day 3 of a three week liquid diet and am seriously craving everything, so any tips you can share to stop the madness would be appreciated!

I am new to this world and support you on your journey. I will be having my Sleeve 20 May 2015.

Oh, Bless your heart! Just think of it as the beginning of your new life!!! And it is! You should do fine, you've been doing great with your pre-op stuff. My NUT has said that the stress of the surgery (this I CAN'T figure out, because I've had 22 surgeries to date, and NONE prior to this made me lose hair!) combined with the starvation mode puts us into the hair loss situation. I, too, have followed (to the T) my Protein and Vitamin (have to for other serious illnesses I 've had) regime, from day one. But I still have loss, although I can officially say it has lessened up considerably since I started the Nioxin shampoo. I figure I have lost about 1/3 of my hair, but I'm ok with it as I had a lot of hair to start with, even though it is fine, but there is still a lot on my head. I can't say for sure it is the Nioxin that fixed it, because I also changed my thyroid meds and that usually helps me a lot with hair loss.

Anyway, I'll be praying for your recovery and let me know how you are doing! All the best.....

Thanks a million!

I am trying to find some photos reflecting my size to post and will keep everyone posted. Just need to be pushed every once in a while. DWordGuy ;-)

Good luck with your surgery and your journey! My surgery is this coming Monday. I went for my last weigh-in today before surgery and I lost a total of 9.5 lbs since 01 Apr. when I started the liquid diet. I had hoped for more, but I'll take what I can get!
