Pre-Op Protein/Meal Replacement

Hello,

I've been scheduled for almost 2 weeks for the 23rd of April.. I'm in the 400's and I've been eating right making changes, swimming and walking to get my weight down some. My Dr has not said that I needed to lose but I wanted to at least lose what I can before surgery. I've lost 10 lbs so far and I need to lose 20 more to get out of the 400's. liquid diet starts on the 10th but can anyone recommend a Meal Replacement that I can do now to help me reach my goal? Thanks

I love nectar Protein shakes. I've tried vanilla and Strawberry-Kiwi. Both sweet and yummy.

I am scheduled for April 6th and am just over 350#.

All my best to you. You've got this!!

My surgeon kept me on liquid diet for 6 weeks before surgery to shrink my liver. I was doing vegetable juices and broths. He recommended using PURE PROTEIN. It was good for me. i was 350 before my surgery and doing as he said I was 299 the day of my surgery.

Thank you, I know this is probably on a thread already but Im still new to the site and haven't had much time to completely research all areas thanks for the response.

I'm on Ensure High Protein for the next three weeks (gastric sleeve surgery on April 20). I take 5 bottles daily plus 250 ml skim milk (as recommended by my dietician) as well as plain tea, clear broth, water, and non-carbonated diet Brisk Ice Tea.

I've been using this, half scoop for Breakfast lunch and having a healthy choice dinner ... I'm not required to do pre-op diet until the 10th which is approaching quickly. I kept saying the 23rd was so far away and oh my goodness it's coming quick. I'm going to look into the ensure. I'm so nervous and excited and worried about the unexpected even though I've been scheduled and the Dr clearly has my chart I have had so many road blocks and I keep thinking would if I get to pre-op final consult prior to surgery to do blood work and the surgeon says no :-( I'll quit worrying and just work at losing this 20 lbs so he can at least see that hey I'm willing to do it even when not asked.

I've been drinking Premier protein from Costco. It's pretty tasty and it's not terribly expensive. It's premixed so it comes in little cartons. I throw it in Nutri bullet with a banana, or pare or papaya, depending on the flavor of the protein drink, and it really comes out very tasty. I haven't scheduled my surgery, but I'm trying to knock off some weight before hand. So far I like this drink quite well and replace two meals with it per day. Congratulations on your own weight loss! And on the exercise! Bravo!

I used the shakes from bariatric advantage-the doctors office sold them. I lost 30lbs pre-surgery. I wasn't required to, but I did. I weighed 275 the day of the surgery. I found the shakes rather filling.
