New to site... Surgery consult tomorrow!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Jen- I'm 37 years old, living 30 miles outside of Boston. I'm about 130 pounds overweight! After years and years of yo-yo dieting and a health scare that put life in perspective for me; I have decided to have the Gastric Sleeve Surgery. I have my first surgeon consult tomorrow at Brigham & Women's Hospital. I'm scared as hell but also excited about the prospect of changing my life for good. They said I should expect to have surgery within 6 weeks most likely. I'm ready. I have a 6 year old little boy who I want to watch grow up! My husband is also very overweight but I think he's going to do it too once I'm all healed up and recovered. I would love to hear any thoughts about the surgery, preop, post opp, how diet is a year or so later, intolerences, any yummy Protein shakes, mixes, powders I should buy? I want to have another child as fertility has been an issue for us and I wanted to know if there is anyone on here that got pregnant after recovering from surgery. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! I welcome advice! :)

Talk soon! Jen
