It's so hot here & I have a hard time eating when it's hot but I do get in 2 shakes which is 60g. And my air conditioning just went out 2 days ago so I was hoping I'd sweet some off lol.

Had my 2 month post op with surgeon today. Down 51 lbs - Yay! All my blood work came back awesome. Protein was spot on, B-12, D3, Iron, Calcium, etc were all in check. He couldn't be happier. Told me my insides should be healed and that my outside entries looked excellent as you can barely tell I was even cut. I go back to NUT next week when she's probably going to raise my calories. Already getting 70-75g of protein per day staying in the 500-600 calorie range. Only thing I haven't been able to do is exercise. Going to an orthopedic doctor 7/7 to go over Xrays that were taken of my right shoulder and knee which are both killing me. Other than that I'm full of energy, in the pool most days and just loving life. I hope everyone else is doing great :)

Definitely getting at least 64oz Water daily. At least 60g Protein too. I got sick of Protein Shakes, So I add a scoop of GENEPRO to my morning yogurt, I buy the Chobani Flips, they're soo good!!

lunch is usually some type protein, sometimes as simple as cottage cheese with fruit, or chili. I sometimes buy a grilled chicken wrap from Wendy's and just scrape out the insides and eat it without the tortilla.

I also use Pure Protein, Protein Bars. Higher protein and low sugar.

I usually eat 3-4 times daily, sometimes a snack of cashews.

I wish I could have nuts, but was told not to. Keep up the great work!!

I've had nuts, but only cashews. They're more "buttery" than most nuts so when you chew them there's hardly any crunch left. I eat them with cheese to keep things soft. It's technically a "no-no" for me also but sometimes I need something small to take a headache or craving away. Sometimes I need some crunch, soft foods can get really boring.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
